They don’t register everything that happens. I will have a round that I am incredibly proud of and totally not like me (like 30-3 or something). After my session I go on the look at my stats and it says like 0-2 with 9 hs’s. It does things like that. That stats it posts aren’t a reflection of the sessions that I have.

haha, i don’t know how many people are interested. I have people saying they are but most likely people will bail. So far interested I have wispy, shinobi, major, alan, myself, chris, and briefs. I have spoken to others and don’t recall what they have said. We would need the five starters and back ups as it is so don’t count yourself out :)

the bottleneck isn’t in linux’s efficiency. It is in the lack of software companies writing for it. It runs much more efficiently and in a few years when everything is written for it its true power will show.

Let’s end our discussion about linux vs other os’s as i specifically said i didnt want this thread to be that

if you want to have that debate start a new thread

whats crossover? lol ive been playing with the settings in wine but i either get a forced shutdown(of wine) or a lack of results :(

Crossover is a program you pay for : (. It is called crossover linux. It utilizes wine in better ways plus added support. It basically is wine that a company pimps out :). They upgrade regularly and tweak wine to make specific programs run better.

I have sound consistently. You can be able to view the messages in steam friends but you have to play with the windows for a while (there is a problem with the way they refresh). As for sound did you try updating your alsamixer?? That may solve your problems, but yet again, i could be wrong. Make sure you have wine configured to use alsa correctly and all that fun. Like i said, i have crossover which runs things a little better

major, that is what i do as well.

I’m actually crossover + steam cuz crossover runs office soooo *edited* well. The only 2 faults that I have with my running cs are that I can’t use my mic and I have an error report in on that. The other one is that steam community does not yet work in game. Out of game friends will work rarely. Still, gameplay is pretty good. What is your experience like?

That is a tutorial on how to do it. I still had trouble after that but my trouble was because my laptop has a built in mic but i wanted to use my headset mic (more of a linux problem). Anyways, like I said, any questions feel free to ask me.

Yesterday I was able to get vent to work in linux through crossover (which uses wine). Wine has a tutorial on how to do it. I had to cross a bunch of problems but it is possible.

If you have any questions about steam or ventrilo in linux you can always pm me or get me on irc. I am new to both topics but as I have them working on my computer I assume I can help.

well there are a handful of people that i scrimmed with constantly last summer. I assume they will all want in. (Wispy, Shinobi, etc.). I thought creating this group would give us all some time to consider who we would be playing with, get to know them, and get to know if we feel they would truly be devoted to the team. I don’t expect the team to dominate, but I definitely think we can win a bunch of games (I think this because when I scrim with a bunch of pub kids against teams we can often win). So, People, step up if you’re interested

i’m going to go ahead and agree that it either: 1. has to go or 2. time should be shortened. It can occasionally be amusing but after 10 or so minutes i’ve had enough dodgeball for a few days

yes sir. My card holds steady at 60 and never dips below. I don’t have to worry when i would have 120 then suddenly 9 people jump on my screens and it would dip. As long as it holds its 60 (and it always does) im golden

Just to throw this valuable information out there nvidia has some cards that the windows drivers only put out 60 fps. As mentioned above anything 60 fps and over will run completely smooth. As long as you are steadily holding at ~= 60 you will have no problems. Nothing is wrong with your settings (nvidia thought it would be a fun driver design i guess).

Haven’t heard from me in a while! During the school year I pretty much go MIA because I can’t play games and succeed in school ( I learned that Freshman year with a 2.1 GPA :( ). Anyways, you have been the leader since I started playing here and the server never fails to be full. You dedicated a lot of time to WCU and I would bet that the rest of the community would agree with me that we are grateful for that.

So, thanks, Kuros for the dedication and making the server run so smooth.
