SpectatorU know what else would be cool…we could remote into the psps from the ps3 and play the game on the tv screen with the ps3 controler or psp …we could also use the psp video output port to put the video directly on to a tv screen so people could atleast watch!

SpectatorI dont think our ps3 council leader has ever been to this site before

I suggest you try to get some together for this LAN and do a little side tourney (that doesn’t give prizes) to see how well it does. Pick a game that will be easy to do a tournament for. If you get the games and the PSP’s I’ll clear out a table for them.soul caliber broken destiny would be perfect

omg 3.00 is better than they made it out to be…They made countless changes that only made it better…They added a bandwidth test feature( tells you your download and upload speeds)…They added a scroll bar so you will know how far you are from the bottom of a list of files or data….they added new avatars….they made the font bigger and when your looking at something it blurs the background so the wall paper or dynamic wall paper doesnt make it hard to read…..They changed the way things are sorted…you can group all data in a particular way and then sort it in another at the same time…You can now output audio to multiple outputs for example you could output audio through the fiber opitic output as well as hdmi…The new analog clock at the top right corner doubles as the loading clock and spins while loading and when it is done is spins back to the correct time…but my favorite new undisclosed feature that they added was the abilty to cut and paste files in diffrent locations thus letting you customize the way your data is organized…I only looked at it for a bit…im sure there are a ton of new features i havnt discovered yet.josrocket

Its gonna be good and here’s why…The game may be short the first time you play through it but you have to look at replay value. With all of the choices you have to make in this game, it could drastically alter the story, giving the game more replay value. And honestly, I believe this is the way it will be, it will not take more than 10 hours to beat the first time through but the choices you make throughout the story will alter the storyline each time, in turn making people want to see the different endings.
Ill tell ya something I really like about this game. If you screw up and one of your characters die, they are dead for good and are not coming back. And I know thee death of a main character in the storyline will alter it. I cant wait for this game personally.
you said it yourself…I dont want to buy a game that the developers make short on purpose because they claim it has replay value…I have a feeling that is what they are gonna pull…Im aware it will have replay value because of the choices you can make but it prob wont change the story enough to make me want to play it again…it has to be really good and/or diffrent before i do that…I prob will just move on to something else after the first play through….but lets both not count our chickens before they hatch…mmmh chicken lol pimpin

If none of you have seen any previews for this you need to check it out. This is on my to get list and I think its going to be a very interesting game. Its gonna either be good or suck…and i mean suck as in very very short…its all mo-cap senes that give you an option to choose your path in the mystery/story…it depends how much money they put into it…end of story

I see what you mean Josh. I think that could be easily fixed by having developers stop making PS2 ports of the newer games. Sure it sucks but every console has to die eventually and the way Sony sales have been going it’s looking like the PS2 will still be on store shelves on PS4 release day. That’s not necessarily a bad thing but older generations need phasing out. Now that the PS3 is priced more competitively that’s more likely to happen but game devs have to abandon the console before the people will.
Your right..the new price is def. hinting at the death of the ps3…plus its not like they havent been hinting at it themselves…it was suppost to have died 2 years ago lol
Well, if the ports for both systems sell then why say no to money? See if they are still making the ps2 ports then they dont obviously want the system to die just yet..we will know when they stop producing games, then the backwards compatiblity comes for ps3(this will urge the current ps2 consumers to think about the new system) and then soon after, they stop producing the ps2 system. Then it is dead Its a easy way for sony to get some new quality customers cause if they have all these ps2 games they are more inclined to get a ps3.

Now I’m REALLY confused…But Josh it’s not intentionally hating. My understanding from other threads is that Sony intentionally took out the ability to natively play PS1/PS2 games so they could implement it differently (or sell it back) later. That would be like Nintendo taking away the gamecube compatibility after a few months of sales so they could release (or sell) a seperate “channel” for it later. Yeah in the end it might be nice but in the meantime the players who didn’t jump on the bandwagon from the start are kinda screwed. Everyone knows the console could easily play them and probably has the raw power to software emulate them, I guess it’s just taboo to discuss it…
I just think it hurts you guys is all I’m saying. I think that’s something Sony should invent a time machine to go back and redo that whole thing differently.
Btw, integration with TVs is a sexy feature.
Yeah with out really thinking about it it seems wrong but if you put yourself in the shoes of the game developers…Think about this…the new ghost busters game was for all systems including ps2 and ps3, if most had backwards compatiblity why would i buy the ps3 version..for 50% the price and half the graphics i could get the same game for the ps2 and play it on ps3…dont you see how that would be a problem for the game companies as well as sony…how can they support the ps2 now if they allow you to do that on the ps3 right now,,,the reason it was on the orignal released ps3s was because they thought the ps2 sales would go in the toilet when the ps3 was released
For the systems that are not backwards compatible allready they will release a firmware patch that will enable it and of course it will be free.

Well actually, its the PS3 Slim and its coming out September 1st. Its only going to be $299, but backwards compatibility isn’t going to come with it but its ont losing anything the last generation of PS3 had. check it out over atAlso, the price drop is affective of immediatly for all versions including the current 160gb and 80gb versions

im pretty sure there ganna cut some stuff outta the new ps3, there not ganna have as many usb ports from 4 to 2 and i think there ganna take out the memory card readersThe only thing that it cant do that the others can is the install other os feature was removed from the slim. Also the slim features a new system that alows it to be controled by the new Sony Bravia TVs. I was more afraid that the hdd wasnt removable anymore but it is still a sata notebook drive and easily accessible from the bottom…so im relieved.
It is avalible in the US on Sept. 1st
Mitch your hating is just getting rediculous just quit.

Spectatorbut first check a few other games to see if you experience the issue…there could be a number of reasons…and it could very well we be the ISP… I get a 1Mb upload and a 6Mb download which you have to agree is more than sufficant and I had issues because they screwed something up with interferance do to splitting…then i had an issue with the routers NAT setttings that was causing problems with VOIP and over all poor connection in games.
