Not everyone, just most of the ones on TV.
They are financially invested in the democrat party and will do their part in making the masses think any opposing group is retarded and racist/bigots. Granted Fox is the same way but 1 station is a far cry from the 5 with heavy liberal leanings, dispite the fact that Fox has the highest percentage of trust and lowest percentage of distrust of all the major stations. And the largest audience. And the only one to have a net gain of viewer trust in 2009.
Given that Fox is a conservative news station and the others are liberal. I think the fact that 39% of the people polled were conservative and 14% were liberal is relevant. If those numbers are correct then poll is a little light on the liberal side(it seems about 25% of the liberals got lost on the way). Care to share where you got those numbers? Also, Obama recieved 7% more of the popular vote than McCain so that’s a bit off too.

The 39/14 is irrelevant. That’s like saying they didn’t random dial enough liberals so let’s random dial until we get the ratio you think is fair. You could random dial for a year and not get a different ratio because that’s the way the country is.

The Obama/McCain voters comment was directed at the fact that equal numbers voted for both so there should have been a fair (IE 50/50) percentage of people from both ideological parties in the survey.

SpectatorSo what was the point with those numbers?
Fox news is the only conservative news channel
Majority of Americans are conservative
There is more than one liberal news channel
That doesn’t make them any less bias than the rest, just they are the only ones in the field targeting the conservative base of America, which happens to be huge. Their sucess has nothing to do with their honesty and more to do with their ability to mesh news, opinion, and entertainment together in a nice cable package. Hell they have liberals like me tuning in, not because I find their message the most truthful, but because it’s entertaining and if you notice, the majority of the Fox News lineup is entertainment oriented opinion shows; that look and feel like the actual news on steroids, but you can’t tell the difference, because fox enjoys a good brain washing.
Yet I still enjoy shows like Oreily, his shows are honest in the sense that it’s his honest opinion of certain issues, I don’t consider him a good source of unbiased news, but I bet the majority of the polled did.

He’s better than the Daily Show, which is where a good number of liberals get their news.

they both are actually very similar in the sense that it’s two guys with very strong virtues, beliefs, and their perspectives on current events. It just so happens that one is very serious and the other is, obviously not. Anyone who takes what either say for truth or reality or whatever is a bafoon. Anything on TV should be taken with a big grain of salt.

SpectatorThe ratios of liberals:conservatives combined with the results shows that people trust news stations that tell them what they want to hear. If you just show the results it sounds like one news station is more honest or pure.

SpectatorObama renewed the Patriot Act didn’t he?

SpectatorNo one is going to not renew it because then whenever anything goes wrong the blame can be directed back to them. The most likely party to kill the patriot act will be republicans themselves.
Democrats don’t have the balls to stick their necks out like that, at least not publicly.

I mean we can sit here and argue all day about any random issue but when you boil it all down anything that didn’t get done last year failed to do so because of that one statement.
