If only we had one when Bush was in office maybe we could have drawn in some Bush haters. lolThe internet is so full of those our servers would be 100% full 24/7 and we would have 100 new members a day, lol.
Now if I get this straight, I think youwingameover spent a post declaring bush to be the worst president ever because he was beholden to the rich and the oil companies. Leaving that statement aside for now, I also believe that he said in a post maybe three down on the same page that we should cut Obama some slack because he’s president and people expect a lot from him and we can never know what he knows or what decisions he has to make on a daily basis. So if I’m reading this correctly, Bush gets hated even though these same criteria apply and Obama gets a pass.
Random thought: Firefox should add the word Obama to it’s dictionary.
I now must present to you all a random annoyance of mine. It has become pretty popular over the past 8 years to portray Bush as stupid, not just the random liberals, but this entire attitude was permeated pop culture as well. I find it hysterical that people would think that anyone who is president of the US could be stupid. It takes brains just to make it to the big leagues of politics and I submit to you that anyone who is president can not be stupid. Obama is not a stupid man, Clinton was not stupid, Bush 41 was dumb either, nor was Reagan. Hell, Jimmy Carter, the most inept president in recent memory was not a stupid man. But lets focus on Bush. According to liberals Bush is so stupid that he is borderline retarded. Yet somehow he secretly fixes the price of oil, personally fabricates intelligence about Iraq, convinces 19 muslims to fly planes into the WTC and the Pentagon and then blows the buildings up himself, but not before stealing $100 billion worth of gold out of the basement. Now, could a stupid man accomplish all of that?
EDIT: This is really #16, #5 just happened to be logged in and I didn’t notice.

ParticipantI agree that there are a lot of crappy public schools out there. It should also be noted that yes a
proper education is more determined by the school itself in grades K-8. However students should
be taking a more active role and taking charge of their education by choosing the harder classes.
Back to the issue of bad schools. Can anyone tell me why teachers shouldn’t receive payment based
upon the quality of teaching rather than how many years they have taught? Why is it that schools have
a hard time getting rid bad teachers? All these problems plague public schools because the teachers union
exists. The union cares not about education and the well being of the students. They care about keeping
students exclusively in public schools and keeping their jobs. Note: this is a broad generalization, however
this is a real problem with the public school system. Has anyone asked why students in private schools tend
to have greater success? It is because private schools tend to have better teachers. Why? Because they
are paid based upon their performance and bad apples can be gotten rid of. However one issue with private
schools is the tuition. Less fortunate families cannot afford this extra burden. But ahah! There is a solution.
This solution is called vouchers. Public schools receive a certain amount of tax money for each student enrolled.
Vouchers allow families to taken the tax money allotted to their child and apply it towards tuition for private school.
However the teachers unions are generally opposed to this measure because it takes away their student base.
The national teacher’s unions are large supporters of the democratic party. Thus democrats are usually opposed
to the idea of Vouchers. See the attached link.
http://www.nysun.com/national/obama-open-t…vouchers/71403/
Note that observers find it odd that a democrat would even be open to the idea of vouchers. However at one point he
was against vouchers stating that it wouldn’t help students or even be harmful. I don’t have the exact verbiage and
cannot find an article fill in the blanks. It should be noted that President Obama’s daughters are currently attending
a private school. This is representative of many democratic politicians. However this isn’t a democrat bash I just want
to explain why I am opposed to many of the ideas of the democratic party. How can vouchers hurt students? It has
the student’s well being in mind by allowing them to attend better and safer schools.
I agree with you to a point that a better school means a better education. However parents and students can put forth
effort that can overcome even the worst of situations. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any success stories of individuals
making it out of the ghetto with the sacrifice of their parents and by working hard and studying their asses off. My
question to you is why can’t vouchers be used to help low income families or better yet why can’t the public education
system be forced to improve?
Can you at least agree with me on this?

SSI -Social security payments, which make up another 20% of the budget, are dependent on income– if you’ve put more into the system, you get higher payments when you retire. This would work if the payments you were making to social security were actually tied to your name. However
the federal government in its infinite wisdom decided to borrow the money from Social Security to make the
budget look better. Social Security is counted as an asset instead of leaving it alone as an “savings plan” like it
was originally marketed to the people of the United States. Never mind that illegal aliens and individuals like my
grandfather who didn’t even pay into the system are getting benefits.

Education- A good chunk of public school funding comes from state property taxes (at least in Texas), and obviously schools that sit on expensive land with extremely wealthy suburbs as their surroundings are clearly going to benefit more. This isn’t some misconception, some myth. If the wealth issue in schools didn’t have an effect, why do the numbers say other wise? It is clear that wealthier more funded school systems are going to have the edge over lesser funded schools. The opportunity for a rich kid to get into trouble, to make bad grades, to flunk out, IS MUCH LESS than a kid in a poor section. And don’t tell me the opportunity is equal for all public schools, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT. I went to a high school where we didn’t even have Advanced Placement Courses, because we simply didn’t have enough funding. So tell me, how is that fair again?Ummmmm… my public high-school was made up of many middle class families… We did not have AP courses at all.
Individuals who wished to excel and take college courses ahead of time had to make do with relying upon themselves.
The point is that AP courses do not make a successful school. A successful school is made up of students that are willing
to put in time and effort. ANYONE can get a good education or even a good enough education if they are willing to
work for it. Nothing comes free and people should stop expecting handouts and life on a silver platter.

That being said I do believe that it was our fault 9/11 happened in the first place. And no matter how much you may deny it, it is true.Did you really just say that it was our fault that terrorists hijacked 4 planes and killed several thousand innocent people
because we somehow deserved it? Are you prepared to defend that to families of the victims? Please inform me how on
earth that was our fault…
