am I the only one that gives a *edited* about it? if so i’ll just deal with it or play a different server… was just wondering since today I played for about an hour and a half and saw an a couple admins use their power to win a round for their team, switch a friend mid round so he could kill people without them realizing it, and switch a friend to their team to imbalance the teams. i’ve seen this occur for awhile, big deal or no? I personally find it annoying and it makes me want to stop playing, but maybe i’m over reacting.Which admins were doing it? I haven’t seen any of that, though I’ve not been on much the last couple of days.

The problem is that I’m going through my router which is limiting connections and more than likely limiting speed. i dont know if its possible, but i think it’d be fun to have an alternative server for the community for scoutzknivez or even a gungame for source like you guys have for 1.6. for those times when some of us just crave something different. just wondering what people think.I personally dont think that this would be super popular. There’s already an elite server which rarely has people on it, and CS:S Dedicated Server takes quite a lot of resources to run.
Is it really worth the performance hit to the Game Server, which already has a lot running on it, to have an additional instance of Source running on it that *might* get used a few times a day?
Just my opinion though.

I’m in the middle of two plugins right now and its a pain in the *edited* figuring out what files to include from the piece of *edited* SDK that Valve released. They seriously have files scattered from one side to the other and in no order in particular.

Okay, here’s you a workaround if your using the Antivirus from WCU.
Download the picture attached and find that in your Norton.

)In there, check the ‘Exclude selected files and folders’ tab.
Then click ‘Exclusions’.
You’ll want to add in.
c:\documents and settings\
\local settings\temp also
add in file type
*.tmp
click okay and you should be good to go.

What file is it saying has a Trojan? Alternately, go into Nortan and tell it to ‘ignore’ the steam directory.

Pretty easy solution tbh.
Are you behind a router? I will assume yes.
Go into your router, go to port triggering, and add in Steam’s ports.
This will open those ports for Steam when you use it.
Those ports are:
Steam Client
UDP 1200 (For the Friends service)
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27020 to 27050 inclusive

See if that helps. Oh, btw. When you add those ports in, reset your router and cable/dsl modem just so you get a nice fresh shiny new connection.

Chances are that if your neighbors are too stupid to realize that they’re unsecured they wont notice. However, you could always do the “neighborly” thing and drop by, tell them, and ask if you give them 10 bucks a month or something if they mind if you use it since your only there for another month or two.
