Slightly off topic: my time warner remote works great with my xbox. Will generic multi device remotes work with the PS3 too?

Can you elaborate on what you use that for?

Also, MS did release the seperate hd-dvd drive for xbox (lol i know)

IF MS cared about the consumer (they don’t), they would release a bluray drive for xbox, or better yet the 360 slim wouldve included the bluray built in a la ps3. MS really did have the chance to make PS3 irrelevant with that but completely dropped the ball.

Ok lets say they did make the attachable external blueray for xbox and it came out now. The cost dif. between the blue ray attachment for xbox and a stand alone blueray would prob be not that much and it would only provide a minimal convenience to the consumer over a stand alone unit. Their best bet was to put it in the slim but there is a prob with that.

They would have never put it in the slim since the addition of it this late in the game would not be beneficial to MS. The xbox will still only play DVD games due to compatibility issues with older xboxs so the built in blueray becomes this bonus addition for consumers that MS cant get royalties from. Why would they waste the money when they are already making a new unit that is more stable and smaller . After all that is what people wanted in first place.

Also, Josh you do realize that the only reason you were unbanned was so you could continue to make a fool of yourself and give the rest of us more ammunition, right?

Ephraim we will see what you have to say next time I see you. None of this pretending that you didnt see me when you come to the mini LANs then run away. If you got something to say to me, say it to my face you *edited*.

I dont see how you came to the conclusion that I made because your posts say something different. If this is what you meant to say then sorry about that:

    1) If he thinks he’ll play PS3 games, get a PS3

    2) If he’s not interested in the games, get a regular bluray player

    3) Getting both an XBOX and bluray is a waste of money

    I agree completely.

I only got on to help Lemm out, and im not going to discuss the gaming industry or Euler’s proofs with you …Its not worth my time since you will always disagree with something anyone says…..Im not going to continue this. In regards to your off-topic statement:

I could be wrong but I don’t think there is a game that has ever utilized all 9 cores on the ps3. I know I wouldn’t want to program for anything like that!

    thx for the luck

Yes they have even in some of the first titles but in digital signal processing its not as simple as that. Its about efficiency in computational methods, after all it’s a parallel processing architecture. What im saying is if they wanted they could calculate the physics for every nail in a exploding nail bomb but its up to them to apply the calculations to be done simultaneously using the number crunching cores. This parallel processing architecture makes this possible since an explosion like that appears to happen within an instant. This complex parallel processing of calculations can be done but they can also do the easy thing and just do a simple calculation that checks to see if an opponent is in a blast radius and if so, they die or take some damage. (In a nut shell) Another simple example is buffering to eliminate load times or reduce them. They just tell the media that they used all the processing power just to impress the typical gaming community to make it sound like its one hell of a game.

I cant believe i got on this *edited*ty site and made a post but,

Mitch once again your ignorance makes you look like a fool and im sick of it, just shut up. Even on day one the Wii was never revolutionary nor was it the first to use any of the technology it uses. The same engineers that designed the move had the initial design since before 2002. There is a video of the very same engineer presenting his work at an engineering convention in 2002 but i cant find it…here is a tech demo from 2003 for the same device from that very engineer.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpNdkm9s8AY

Here is an written article from 2003 on it:

    http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P1-87510083.html

The PS move is just a rehashing of this motion technology that didnt surface in a product because the ps2 didnt have the processing power to do this kind of video processing and game video processing at the same time.

The wii motion plus copies the ps3 sixaxis controler if you want to get techincal about it. The wii mote only did x y and z acceleration. The wii motion plus just added pitch, yaw, and roll to the controller..uh oh 6 axis

I dont even need to explain why the Move works better than a wiimote. You dont have to be an engineer to understand that, you just have to use your brain, but i will explain it mitch if you still dont get it.

The wiimote with wiimotion plus is a ps3 controller that uses infarred sensor bar to detect location which is the only thing that the ps3 controller lacks.

The wii is marketed toward the low income, young and apparently now the stupid.

Why dont you just go be alone with your aneros.

I will have to disagree with you on the 3D at this day in age. The new tv frequency syncing stereoscopic 3D will prob. not be going anywhere since it is easy to implement into any movie made. Also, TV wise, the chip that allows for 3D technology to work is such a inexpensive implementation that soon it will be in every tv that comes out. They are just milking it like they do every other new technology. Also, the 3D blue rays are not the only thing that is being backed but also the community that values 3D games. FYI all new PS3 exclusives are ALL in 3D and even some cross platforms like Batman Arkam Asy, Burnout, CoD etc. Its still early but I dont blame you if you disagree. But consumer electronics are my specialty and Im 90% sure that I will be right.

But your right I forgot to mention that if you dont have any intention of playing games then get a cheep blueray player but I mentioned the 3D blueray functionality as an obvious example of how it’s up to date. Dont get the xbox and a cheap bluray. That would be a poor investment to make in both cases if you did that. Just get the cheap blueray if money is an issue.

    1. It is one of the best since it gets firmware updates …..and FYI with the firmware update 3.50 the PS3 blue ray player is now a 3D blue ray player.

    2. YES

    3. It works well but I dont prefer it since I i know the button config of the ps3 controller better than the remote. Also the remote requires batteries as the controller does not.

I haven’t kept up with this much and I certainly don’t mean to bash it, but what’s the deal with the globe on the end? In the commercials it looks like they’re waving magic wands around and tbh they look kinda stupid. Again, no disrespect or anything.

Does the motion sensor use the globe for position tracking or is it some sort of motion package or what?

Yes, it uses the ball as a 3D sensor if you will….Since the ball stays a constant size it’s easily and consistently able give a dept reading. When you incorporate this dept perception with the 3 axis accelerometer and gyroscope (six-axis) within the remote you get acceleration and orientation readings in that 3d space which is why they use a ball at the end. The different colors are programed by the developers to distinguish player 1 and 2 etc. and different statuses within a particular game. (if your using fire it may turn red)….When you use it in a FPS it feels like using a mouse. I use it in the MAG 2.0 beta and got awesome results. I actually feel like I have the advantage, because of how responsive and steady the aim is and how quickly i can move the cross-hare and steady the aim on each persons head. I also like how it interrupts an activity your doing by stabbing at the screen to knife another player. The move was done right.

I could do it eventhough most of what you talked about isnt necessary or seldomly needs to be done. Do i want too? not completly, but i would if i had to, but despite that, its points like what you said above we are gonna discuss… we both know there are people on the list of admins that have no business being on there and some of the people on the list have permissions that they dont need or should not have and these need to be revised…Efrum you really need to quit stiring things up you obviously didnt hear the whole thing and what your claiming makes no sense because of lack of motive…I thought we were friends as well… wow the way you guys treat me makes me sick…I love how i always get the large end of the flaming when i didnt even start this…Just because i agree im am automatically the leader apparently and I have to defend everyone…thanks for that

Mitch what is this grudge you speak of. I thought we were friends wtf…and your so called informant has completely misunderstood the situation due to only hearing half of the conversation…and why do you think this is all my idea…i just got sucked into this whole thing, this is not my doing nor is it mike’s…I of all people know what you guys do and you can still do it but it has to be done through an actual student exec. Its only right. I will send you a message why this was brought to our attention and why this is being considered.

You guys need to relax nobody is attacking anybody, recent events have made it clear that the current execs are not in control of the website, servers, ect…we have become too dependent on the Alumni and aid of people outside of this school…I speak for the club when i say alumni like adambomb, nickname, and mitch are very important and we dont want you guys to be sore over this…The point is, despite it not being allowed for people who dont go to the school to have any kind of power in the club, we need to tie up loose ends that are a risk to the sites security. There for all people that no longer attend the school should not have the ability to ban accounts, change code on website, delete posts, and they certainly should never have passwords and what not to access main control over the website. Only students should have these powers.

This would result in all old alumni memebers to lose access to various things, but this by no means that the alumni cant make suggestions, contributions, and continue to help. It will always be welcome. We just need the students to hold all positions and power. This also means we need to have students taught how to do the jobs that the alumni currently still do.

It is as simple as this and nothing more quit blowing things out of proportion please.

This game seems to have had a greater following than MGS4O, COD4andW@W, R2, and KZ2…Not only is the single player campaign almost perfect. The multiplier is fun and addicting. The reason it seems to have a greater following is when i get on my ps3 between 3 and 9 of my buddies were playing it. It was even like this during the beta up to the release of the game. If some of our biggest ps3 gamers here at the school weren’t so god *edited* poor this would be a wonderful game to LAN.

Just to let others know what the online multiplayer is like…feel free to add to what im saying….The multiplayer can be compareable to gears…except this game is much faster, more people in a server, larger varity of modes and weapons, unfortunatly no finishing moves. It starts u on separate sides of the map like in gears, you can hide very discreately, roll and dodge, and you can respawn or do elimination game, you can even talk *edited* to the other team when you kill one of them…The ranking system is awsome as well, and the controls are smooth…its no wonder half of my buddy list is obsesed with the beta…the others that arnt playing it are playing MAG beta which slaps COD in the face with a frying pan

is it just me or does the new psp go look really bad compared to the older psp? although the new psp is thinner and lighter, the old psp looked sleek and more suited for older people. the new one looks like a nintendo handheld. why buy a psp go when you could just pony up a little bit more money and get the new ps3 slim?

no its just u…If you would look at the diffrence in features its more suited to the older demographic…its smaller so it can fit in pocket, built in memory for music and downloadable only so i dont have to lug umds, button layout is more comfortable, etc…If you need more reasons just ask i will list more…Also i hate to say it but i hope homebrew cant hack it because when people hackit the game developers wont make games for it if everyone is stealing their games

You also need to remeber…THE PSP GO IS NOT THE PSP SLIMS REPLACEMENT…it is simply another hardware option for consumers…they designed another one just to make the majority of psp gamers happy..and the majority listen to music on it and they dont like the size of the slim and they dont like luging umds… they are gonna continue support and production of psp slim and psp go
