Just throw’n this out there but more than likely, Im gonna start putting Smash back on the projector at the MP Room on Saturdays if enough people show up. I’ll continue to put the games up that people request based on what everyone wants up if enough people do not show up for Smash.ill be back for SC or mk vs DC probably next week. i may bring my box if someone will bring a tv so we can get some L4D or Gears 2 going
Freezer
Participantback to the original topic L4D would most deffinately be a welcome addition and i know for a fact we would have enough coppies for console. i’m not even sure it would be able to be played as a shooter because it is so much more than that when you play multiplayer so it would have to go in Misc. Gears2 and COD 4 or 5 should probably be the shooters anyway to bring in the console crowds. i just hope we keep SC4 because im actually trying to learn that game now lol
Freezer
ParticipantNot with me and Jo building the fire lol. actually i dont think jo will be allowed near the fire(or the Ban Hammer) this time lol.
Freezer
Participantwell maybe we can have one next semester then.
Freezer
ParticipantSo any word on whether we are doing this or not since it is day after tomorrow?

Participantany console players can come down to the MPR in central. we will probably be in there like every other Saturday right Mike?
Freezer
ParticipantIm all in. ill make the fire again if there is dry wood if not can you get some girl scout water (kerosene)?
Freezer
Participantthank you i wasnt going to be able to make it today anyway i have physics lab
Freezer
ParticipantEven though I didn’t win anything i had a great time. I think that is the smoothest the console tournaments have ever gone. i only had issues with the fact that we only played one map in halo when we played multiple maps in EVERYTHING else. Brenton and Mike did a terrific job running everything despite some people(me included) incessantly asking when they were going to play and who was the third person on their team.

ParticipantI gave Dustin your linksis mike

ParticipantObviously the president of the club has approved any action taken so this issue is over. If further concerns on this topic need to be expressed do it at the next meeting. The console events at the up coming LAN will either succeed or fail and that will be the best data you can ask for.
Freezer
ParticipantThis is directly from the front page just to clarify the current argument. I’ve indicated the line in question with **********.
“Shingi will be holding the first console meeting of the semester this Friday in the Cat’s Den at 8 p.m. The purpose of this meeting will asses where we stand as far as what free play will go on at the LAN’s and also other events that we can possible hold. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come as we need plenty of opinions so that we can get a better grasp as to what steps we take next in the console development in the community.
Tentative Topics:
1. Free play games.
2. Possible additions to the tourneys or replacement.*********
3. Volunteer’s to help at the LAN’s.
4. Community involvement.
5. Tournament setup.
6. Any other ideas people might have.
As for the locations I know some of you wanted to do it in the UC seeing as how it’s the focal point of campus but the majority of the people that usually attend the console meetings live on the upper part of campus so I pick the Cat’s Den/ Brown. We look forward to seeing people there and can’t wait to get the ball rolling on this.”

ParticipantI could not make it to the console meeting because of unavoidable prior engagements, but after this long conversation I’m a little glad i didn’t. First of all on the issue of replacing games that were voted on. that just didn’t need to happen. adding games to the list is fine but the exclusion of Wii Bowling as a tournament was a mistake. but that topic is long dead and has been kicked half to hell. on the topic of the surveys the best time for handing out those is just after the pizza arrives so people have a little time to do it before the next game starts (don’t make it mandatory). on the issue of space for the past 2 or 3 lans i get there several hours early to help set up as do several other console players. if you have an issue with space come help set up; please we can always use the help. that way no one can groan about it. if ive missed anything please let me know and i will adress it.

ParticipantA Console Mini LAN would be great i would definitely be able to bring my usual TV 360 and games. I also now have a car and can help others transport their stuff if that is an issue.
Freezer
ParticipantAwesome that publicity should pull in some good competition to make it interesting.
Freezer
Participantyou should probably ask becka since she was the one cooking but i think it was lean ground beef, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and some kind of clear captain Morgan.
Freezer
ParticipantMaybe we should have one of those by the rock band set up at the next lan, because some of the singers last time…. or maybe everyone else should have one. then we will know how drunk you have to be for them to sound good.
