I guess some people just don’t like to take the time to enjoy learning story, its just shoot em up bang bang gimme now now cause I am impatient.Nah. I don’t mind a little story in my games, but there is a *edited* line in the sand. When the story interupts the gameplay instead of complimenting it, there is a problem. An example of a good story/game ratio is the latest Ratchet and Clank (I know, just bare with me here). There was a game with good gameplay and funny, well-written cutscenes which advanced the plot. I didn’t have to consult a website to understand the story. I just played and watched, while enjoying the gameplay and getting a feel for the characters.

That dude hits the nail on the head every time. His reviews are funny, but I think he can be a little too picky. Also, he sometimes goes into America-bashing, which I have very little tolerance for.
EphraimParticipantI figured it was worth more than a single response, considering it pretty much destroys the credibility of the International Olympic Commitee.
EphraimParticipantSo, I guess nobody cares that China cheated?
EphraimParticipantSo, are you talking about tarrot cards or the type that magicians use at birthday parties?
EphraimParticipantAlright, what about this?
EphraimParticipantWilliam Hung is certainly the darling of the modern music scene.
EphraimParticipantWow. Mine went fast. Here’s a clue about #21:
“It makes me smeal mainly.”
EphraimParticipantTimes up! The movie was “Time Bandits.”

21. Rocky II, Pink Monkey #16
22. Happy Gilmore, Bitey
EphraimParticipantI had a tough time deciding whether to put this in Fail or Win. I am honestly not sure if I made the right decision.

I was watching some olympic boxing the other day. It was totally different from the boxing I normally see (nobody fell over). Would anybody happen to know how the boxers get points? I think it has something to do with the big white spots on their goves.

also… saying that the regime in Russia is “tyrannical” is biased and who is not to say in Iraq or anywhere in the world that the US is called “tyrannical” its all point of veiwI don’t think he was calling Russia tyrannical; he was calling the regimes in the Phillipines, Greneda, South America, and Nazi Germany the U.S. attacked tyrannical.
Now, back on topic or I will have to show the picture of Sean Connery’s chest hair again. Yes, I do have it saved.
EphraimParticipantMeh. Just to play it safe, I’ll remove the attachment. We’ve all seen it. Here’s the link.
Moving on:
EphraimParticipantSo, how about those double-posts?

I edited out my address and the card number. So there.

EphraimParticipantThunder steal!
EphraimParticipantI don’t have anything against the athletes. I’ve seen plenty of Chinese athletes that gave mind-blowing performances. Those vaulters were awesome. Still, I consider anything provided by the host nation’s government (stadiums and the like) to be associated with them.
Anyway, I was watching the swimming events, and I saw the name “Japan” on one of the swimsuits. This got me thinking: why do all the outfits have the english versions of country’s name. I mean, the Japanese don’t call their country Japan, and they weren’t competing in an English-speaking country. Was there some sort of meeting where the athletes decided “english names only?” Did they flip a coin? Maybe I’m just thinking too hard about this.
EphraimParticipantSo, nobody found my pic funny? I revealed that my birthday is “*edited*-porn appreciation day” for nothing?

EphraimParticipantHow is calling out the Chinese government for brutalizing its people (and Tibetans) biased?
EphraimParticipantCacophony said:
Oh, I know. Tienanmen Square. Tibet. People have been *edited*ed over the way China has been running things for a long time now. But, I’ve got money that most of the recent human rights protests that have appeared will fade away when the Olympics are gone…And if you don’t think the Olympics usually has some political side to it consider any Olympics that was held during the Cold War.
Most serious critics will continue to attack China’s policies, even after the games have ended. I don’t think the pressure put on the Chinese government will abate anytime soon. The more powerful the country becomes, the closer people will watch them. Also, sooner or later, something is going to go down with Iran. Who China sides with will be important.
I am fully aware that the Olympics have always had political implications, but I think when discussing the actual events, it is unfair to the athletes to drag up politics.
I’d also like to reiterate: Izzy sucked.
EphraimParticipantCacophony said:
And while the political aspect of the Olympics this year can be annoying it is certainly an important aspect. It’s been one of the biggest parts of this particular Olympics since they announced China as the host nation. What irks me is that sudden interest in the human rights violations that only seem to be going on because of the Olympics and will probably die out after the event is over. While it might not always be obvious, the Olympics always has a political side.Uh, no. Activists have been decrying the Chinese government’s behavior for many years. The Tiananmen Square massacre comes to mind. True, there has been a signifigant increase in the awareness of the government’s human rights violations sinse they got the Olympics, because people don’t like the Chinese government receiving the honor of hosting the games. This is a good thing. The more international pressure put on them, the better. I wouldn’t call the political element of the ’08 Olympics annoying so much as telling.
While the opening ceremony is all about the host country–and is thereby open to political observation–the games themselves are all about the atheletes. It’s pretty fun watching the events, regardless of the hosts. Yesterday, I was watching the men’s gymnastics. This one American (I think his name was Sasha) was an absolute beast on the rings. It must have really messed with his shoulders, swinging around like that. This other American whose name I can’t remember (it was Indian, I think) was on that horse-thingy. It was really cool, like he was breakdancing in the air or something.
I remember watching the ’96 games, and I thought it was annoying how the events kept being pre-empted by the TV channel. They would only show a little bit of an event, then move on to a soap opera-type segment about some athlete’s struggle to get to the games. If I’m watching an event, I want to see the whole thing. Also, Izzy sucked. From what I’ve seen, the ’08 games are being presented much better. It’s all action.

ephraim way to throw youre political opinion to a athletic event.Dude, it was already there. For the last week, whenever I turned on the news, I heard debates about whether the president should go to the events or stay away as a sign of protest. I don’t consider calling the Chinese government questionable in a thread about an event being run by the Chinese government controversial or inapropriate.
EphraimParticipantSon of a *edited*.
EphraimParticipantYep, all those flashing lights totally make up for the political prisoners and reeducation camps.
I have mixed feelings about this whole thing. On one hand, I don’t like the Olympics being hosted by such a sinister government. On the other hand, we went to Nazi Germany in the thirties and kicked their little asses.
EphraimParticipant
EphraimParticipantI’m not worried about having Death Knights all over the place because players can only have one Death Knight per server. For mine, I’m thinking either Troll or Blood Elf. Still a Tauren would be cool. He’d be so huge!
I think it’s interesting how Blizzard is putting a little more action in the game. In the flight parts, you have to avoid oncoming projectiles. That’s nothing like regular combat, where bullets and arrows will only miss by chance.
EphraimParticipantHey guys, did you notice below the words, there’s a really bad picture?
