EphraimParticipant“Theo’s claws clicked and clacked on the linoleum of the floor, making a sort of “clickity clackity” sound, like the sound of dragon claws on linoleum.”
Oh, internet. You so crazy!
EphraimParticipantI find this to be rather awesome:
EphraimParticipantAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
…
Oh, wait. It says “HOMO.”
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
EphraimParticipantI believe last semester’s tournaments proved beyond a a shadow of a doubt that a Brawl tournie with items can work. The only reason I would remove all items woul be if the President or Console Vice President demanded that I remove them. However, I am willing to consider changing individual items if I am given legitimate reasons.
EphraimParticipantYou could have posted this in the Brainstorming Thread.
My item set isn’t terribly different from last semester’s succesful Brawl tournaments, so I’d like a little more detail. I mean absolutely no offence when I say this, but I know most of the people who frequent the Saturday LANs, and they hate items in general, so I’m a little skeptical on this one. Between now and the LAN, I’ll probably test out the rules with someone.
Edit: I just compared my item list to Eyce’s list from the previous LAN. Here are the differences: I removed the Super Scope and Fire Flower. I added Hot Head, Star Rod, and Unira. Also, I added the options of removing all items and allowing Smash Balls (with the consent of both teams).
EphraimParticipantHowdy! We have a big LAN event coming up on Halloween and we’ll probably have a meeting between now and then. It’s not a big deal if you don’t have a desktop, because there are plenty of console-related stuff on campus. For example: every saturday, there is a mini-LAN in Central Drive Hall’s multi-purpose room, free of charge. The best way to keep up-to-date on club news is through the forums, so joining was a really good move.

Keep in mind you can copy game profiles to other Wiis. All you need is one profile with everything unlocked and you can copy it over to the others.I know. My plan is to get one memory card with everything unlocked, then copy the file onto other memory cards. If I don’t get everything I need soon, I’ll look for a volunteer with the right file on a memory card. *looks towards Liquid*

EphraimParticipantHere’s an update: I’ve been playing the game for a few days now, and I’m getting some good ideas for the tournie. I think the hardest part of preparing for this tournament is unucking everything important. By the time I get it done, I’m going to be a Mario Kart expert.
EphraimParticipantHere’s what I heard last night:
Blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink blink. Dammit, Nancy! Cut it out!

Think about it.
EphraimParticipantExamining the socal implications of video game is worthwhile, but that would belong in a general video game course, not just “Melee Theory.” And there is an enormous difference between studying the nature and place of video games in society, and playing a game. This looks like an excuse to skrew aroud and play games for college credit.

notice the schoolI know it’s a college of arts, but this still sounds fishy to me. Video games are extracurricular, unless you plan on become a game designer. If that’s the case, you should be learnng how to program, not pull off combos
EphraimParticipantWow. Credit hours for sitting on your *edited*, playing video games. That’s just about the worst thing ever.
EphraimParticipantI love you Bitey. I love you…
Edit: I mean in a way-hetro way.
EphraimParticipantPretty sure mine stays the same.

The reason that we dont ban Metaknight is because, well no one really uses him. And honestly, the few people that do dont play him seriously so their is no harm. The way I’d put it is that nobody around here plays him like a spamming jerk. It’s possible to play Metakinght with the intent to win, without being a jerk about it.
There is no way I’m banning any characters. Now, if I see anyone spamming really cheap moves over and over, I may disqualify. Metaknight is not a cheap character in and of himself. It’s just that some people exploit a lame move or two. As I’ve always said “It’s only cheap if you spam it.”

EphraimParticipantDouble Dash
I propose we steal Zapling’s rules.

I’m sorry, you can claim we live in the best era, but out society is stagnant. There is too much, “OMG BRITTANY DID THIS” bull*edited* and not enough of “Local Musician wows thousands with new music”I agree, but Marilyn Monroe was pretty much the same thing. Her claim to famous was looking pretty and getting down with the Kennedy brothers.
Generally, I think the modern world gleefully celebrates failure. For example: Snakes on a Plane was number one at the boxoffice its opening weekend.
