There is a profile link when you click on their names. Confidentiallity is something we probably don’t want to invade. But, it is the user’s option to post their pic and info. It has been promoted at the last 2 meetings to post info about yourself.
Well, the ts3 server can support 512 clients…lol that is alottttttttttttttt of people. But yea, facebook, skype, ts3, ventrilo, and even aim works guys. As long as you have majority of those you are fine for communication. The ts3 server is here for people that want to chat, get info, learn to work things on the site, or even get in contact with execs/site managers. Personally I think it would be a good idea to have the TS3 server saved and ready because if you need some info on things like “how to upload pictures”, “how to find help for fliers”, or just information on the club, it is versy easy to hop on and talk to someone. There are posts on how to do about everything you need to know, but sometimes it is easy to just ask on ts3. The quality is great and it works for whatever we need it for. Also, I am sure there are some clan people on campus that have little groups for playing games and we can even create channels for that. Just hop on and ask.
Hey, you probably know me by now lol. I will hop on and play with you guys tommorow. Today is just a little rough since the semester is getting close to ending.
Mitch is changing some stuff to correct the issue from ts2 to ts3 so it will be back online later today.
I will play about any MMO but clickers…and all fps games =]. Go usually by Ravax, Lyco, Osiris, or Rorschach. I play alot of bfbc2 and plnning on gettig homfrot d bf3.
9*pm hop on ts2 or dd vent and ill tell u guys the official time start *(not sure why it is so late)

The alumni or any other people not at the lan that wants play, we will start a little game before the tournament for warmups. The squads vs squads wil be in the 4v4, the practice(messing around) will be in the 32 player one, and the final round for singles instead of squads, will be in the 32. So there will be a squad and player winner. ( BY the wcu tournament rules, any outside players not in the building for the lan, can not win the tournament) however, if agreed by other squads and players, feel free to play against eachother. If anyone has suggestions or other comments, feel free to post.

Get one of those logitech wireless or new world of warcraft headsets and they won’t intercept eachother lol.
the new wireless logitech headsets are nice, but I don’t think you can get either of these to work for xbox and pc.

Most sponsors will get an idea of how active a group is by trolling visiting the website site and looking thru your forums.
The new (Multiplayer) games are a good way to get more and new people active in your group. Posting fliers around campus about a new game being released and where to get info about the server and LAN parties is a good start. You always need new blood and this is a good way to attract them.
agreed, we have instructions to do all of the above and a constitution that keeps things in line.

DDD will host servers for both games upon their release so we will be focusing on populating these servers as soon as they are enabled.
I am getting homefront for sure. Saw the previews, saw the demo, and I like it alot. I hope it gets voted in next lan, I have a list of “things to do” to make sure the next lan is alot better since we have barely any sponsors… =/ I blame the public school systems for not giving people life instructions to people that “need them”.
thanks masterp, I don’t know much about the internet on campus besides that it was slow, i got a petition of over 50students, and bam over break the school spent over 100k$ on a package/bandwidth management machine to fix the internet. Took them a while because of the economy, but after that big letter, all those names, and a few hrs of my time, that major problem was fixed. IT is definately stepping up. Anyways, im hoping that no more problems arise for this lan. Only things i can thing atm that are problems is sponsorships, number of systems for people to play on, TRIAL PRODUCT KEYS FOR COMPUTER GAMERS, and number of compter gamers that have been approached and introduced(considering that alot stay in the rooms, sort of soloist, and play with high pride lol) =/.
I still am up for grabs for people that think they can beat me at an fps that is a console gamer. I am ready to get that remote for any of you consolers to face me ;].

As much as I like BFBC2 and as epic a LAN game it could be, it really shouldn’t even be an option since DICE doesn’t allow local or privately owned dedicated servers.
Below are the metrics I took from Atari BEFORE the new filter. I retested a few and the numbers are, well, terrible. Take what’s below and triple the latency and cut the bandwidth in half. Keep in mind these are raw metrics and do not take into account datacenter-induced lag, which for most gaming datacenters is an additional 20-50ms.

EA/DICE does not allow clans or unaffilieated datacenters to host BF2/BFBC2 servers. They are extremely strict with this so it’s highly unlikely DDD is allowed to host their own. They likely have to rent them just like everyone else.
If they’re willing to sponsor a BFBC2 server for us that would be awesome. Post more details when you get them and we’ll link them up as a sponsor. Even if we aren’t allowed our own, a common place to play with a friendly atmosphere is just good. It’s a rare trait these days.

I can talk to the DDD guys and see if they will lock the server for us. If not, up to the executives. lol

The reason for this topic is im planning on establishing and running a paint ball park here in Sylva and was wondering if anyone here on the forums could spread the word out for me about this business. Im currently looking for land in the area to setup the park, so im not for sure exactly when i will get this thing up and running, but im definitely 100% sure that i want to do this. So if anyone likes to play paintball or if you know anyone who is willing to learn, please feel free to send this info about the campus.
P.S. I will be attending the March 12th LAN so if anybody has any questions feel free to ask me or just PM here on the forums.
I want to play paintball up here so bad. Tell me when its up, ill put my guns in a offcampus locker or something. I know some other guys that play too at this university, I can spread the word to them. If you need help setting up or something, my brother works at blackriver paintball field and I have a good idea of how the field needs to be worked out after playing there alot.
