However, repeatedly killing yourself to avoid losing points for dying warrants some sort of punishment.

I have changed it so that suiciding automatically subtracts 15 points.

Bloodlust, after looking over the logs, what you did was obviously wrong. You ban will remain through the weekend.

I acknowledge that what i did was wrong but i would call a week ban out of the hand, but it is your decision and the ban is fine with me, as long as you have fixed the problem that as at hand, and to peanut. Ruining the game for other people is and if not should be against the rules. Also would like to state, what if an entire team decided to start typing kill in console at the start of every round, are you saying that because it is not a direct rule, the admin would do nothing about it?

I think that regardless of who the admin was, or what the circumstances are, there are better ways for both sides to handle it. Instead of saying “stop doing that you *edited*ing *edited*”, you could just as easily say “stop doing that *edited*” or “you’re making our team lose *edited*” or something to that degree.

While that may be misunderstood as being abusive towards whoever that is, it is also taken into consideration that you are someone who just wants to play the game and have fun, and that person is ruining the fun for you and others.

Jumping up and calling someone a *edited* is completely unnecessary. All it does is make you look like a stupid bigot, and thus you get banned. So please, save us all that trouble by not doing that.

Yes, i know i went a little out of hand, but none of this would of happened if the admin had done something in the first place, is that not right?

I have removed your ban. This isn’t really worthy of a 1 week ban considering the circumstances.

Admins: Please ban the people breaking the rules, not those complaining about you not doing your job.

    Thank you MasterP.

No its not an appeal, its a report. I could care less if i’m banned, just don’t want this to happen to other people. People with admin do and or should follow very strict rules, especially when it comes toward banning someone. Most do.

How does being the last one on the team have anything to do with quickswitching? If you’re zoomed in and they sneak up on you it won’t matter anyway. Being able to quickswitch to a deagle won’t make the AK shot in the head or the knife in the back any less of a 1-hit kill.

Being the last one alive has lots of things to do with quickswitching. One you were saying look at your radar in which would prove no use what so ever unless you had teammates covering you from opposite sides. Which would mean if they die that you would know how to cover 2 areas aswell as you would know where the enemy was/how far away/and such, in which quickswitching would come into effect. Seeing as you would zoom one spot quickswitch zoom on the opposite spot. Second yes it will matter if they sneak up on you. Key word there was sneak. The whole idea of sneaking is that you can get the jump on the guy/awper. Giving the guy less time to react to shoot you with an awp and or quickswitch to a deagle. In other words yes being the last one matters a whole bunch with quickswitching, yes sneaking up on you matters, since you can just easily quickswitch and aim right back at them, assuming they miss the first shot.

The only game I’ve ever played where quickswitching significantly reduced reload time was Halo 1, reducing reload time by 30% on most guns.

As for the “guy sneaking up on you” stuff, you have a radar now. Use it. As retarded as the radar is, paying attention to it will keep you alive longer.

Once agian. Who says your not the last one alive with 5 other people? If im not correct the only way you can see people on the radar is you move your crosshair directly over them in which their position is pinged onto the map. While scoped and fixed on one position its sort of hard to look at your radar, even though i still glance back in forth.

nevertheless.. there is no way to stop people from quickswitching … any mod you would made would not be effective because it would end up messing up the rest of the guns

besides… I don’t even use it because it reloads faster.. and it may do it but it’s not that much of an advantage.. the only reason i do it is because I would have to click my mouse 2 times just to get out of zoom cus i only zoom once…

Same with lemm, only occasionally do i actually quickswitch to reload faster, but more so to keep track on my surroundings. Its alot easier to quickswitch than scope twice and then be forced to scope agian when you want to shoot, and who knows while your scoped some guy might just decide to come from your left and blow your face up.

So basically I think you are saying you are about to leave since you are evidently the best player according to the points…??

I personally don’t have a huge problem with bunny hopping. I have said I will try to learn some day when my schedule allows me to. And one of the other servers I play on, gasp!, is one with 16k every round, and b hopping is legal. And although the server is packed almost 24/7, I would say the bunny hopping does get a little annoying, or it could be the excessive awps…

And now I could very well be wrong here, and I don’t play CAL or anything, but I was under the impression Bunny Hopping is/was illgal, or at least past 3 hops…again, I could be wrong…

Ahh no wait i get what you were referring to now. Yea i wont stop playing on this server is still a challenge for me. Its hard enough for me to maintain my points.

Correction. Im not saying ill leave im saying some people will get frustrated and leave. Me being the best player has nothing to do with this. Its the fact if you start to make to many rules, people will think your just trying to control how they play.

I am listening to the positives and negatives and I think have heard all the arguments, in my opinion bunny hopping should remain illegal. This is a pub, more than that, a community, new people to this community often leave very quickly when they see someone bunny hopping, I have also been told that is why they left. So I can’t feel comfortable making it legal knowing that it in fact pushes people away from our server. What I would like is a person completely new to the game to be able to come into the game and the only difference that they have under others is skill level, not their ability to bunny hop or any other thing a new player would not know about. All of that of course comes with experience, I don’t want a new player to have to learn to bunny hop just to be on the same level as a select few and from the looks of the votes it is indeed a select few that can and/or want to learn.

Okay ill admit your right here, but people can only get better in an enviroment with people who are better than THEY are. If they go into some server where their god after 1 weeks of playing because their playing agianst bots and dont even know it, they wont get better. Theyll just learn how to spray and pray. People leave for many reasons, not just bunny hoping. Thats hardly the most common factor anyways. I could careless if it stays banned or not but im just saying. You cant get better at something until you try it, practice it, and challenge other people using it, its just like if you ban quickswitching, youll have a WHOLE lot of regs leave because for most of us, its just a reflex, as much as just pulling that trigger(clicking the mouse is). Also the amount of people ud have to inform when they do it, before they do it, and if they do it, would just require way to much effort.

Also id like to add. Most people like me, play in pubs to work on increasing my skill, timing, aim, and what to do when certain things happen. How can we do this if the most simple things (quickswitching) is banned? People have to work at what they do to get better. Just like if people cant quickswitch, hey practice, or if people cant bunny hop(im still working on it) :( practice that too.

Ellaine, you are correct in saying that a skilled person can bunny hop without scripts and such, but how can we tell if a person is good at it or is just scripting, which would obviously be illegal. In my opinion, admins have enough to worry about without trying to determine if someone’s bunny hop is legit or not.

It infact is very easy to tell whether they are scripting or legit. One, if they move SUPER UBER FAST even while hoping up hill it infact is a script. If their score is 0-7 and they bunny hop like a god they are infact scripting. If they have some crazy name like 34824hklfgdklfgjkd they are infact scripting. If they move four times faster than someone running with a scout, they are infact scripting. Its very easy to tell if someone is scripting just like if someone is walling. You just have to know what you are looking for. Just as if you were deciding wether that 50 bill is a counterfit or not.

That’s like baby sitting the weak, uncreative, and conventional. That’s almost saying that the people here on this server can’t handle it, so we’re going to limit a few things, so that those who can’t do it at the moment, those who are lazy to learn, don’t have to adapt, learn and increase in aiming, tactics and everything. I mean sure if you want the server to be fun for everyone and i agree, the server should be fun for everyone to enjoy. But have you ever consider it from the other side’s point of view?

@16 Determining if someone can bunny hop legit or not, isn’t that similar to catching someone who is walling? Or perhaps ghosting? Sure some dead noobs give away the fact that they’re hacking, others are more tricky, and you need to comprehend a few things to figure out, hey that doesn’t make sense, or why the hell would you do that? If you are going to compare what you can do IRL to CSS and use that to form a basis on what can and cannot be done, then there would be so many flaws. For bunnyhopping, are you so sure they didn’t intend it to happen? People are creative, bunnyhopping is just one way people adapt to a situation. Hey i need to find a way to dodge more, so i can survive and thus kill more, and do the objectives. It would be speculation if they programmers intentionally or did not intentionally programmed so that the bunny hops are possible. But i’ll tell you that they did INTEND in adding horizontal acceleration, which is the root of bunnyhopping, and other tricks.

Haha elly i like the fact we both brought up a few of the same facts =D.

well, not a player ban for quickswitching… but the action. I’m considering a “in real life” / “programmer circumvention” rule… something the likes of if you can’t do it in real life then that’s bad, and one where the game was built some way for a reason, so it should stay like that… both bhopping and quickswitching would be in the scope of the “irl” one, coz any rifleman knows your gun doesn’t reload if you just touch another gun :P and bhopping don’t quite work… and i def. never saw that at a track meet… and the programmer intentions… they made the awp reload longer coz it would maek more sense, and quickswitching is dodging that. quickswitching would fall into a similar category as mousewheel shooting, too… just food for thought…

Sorry but if your trying to make it realistic, your going to have to remake the whole source engine. Maybe make the glock a one headshot kill from 1 foot away, or being able to survive 5 bullets in your body, or catching a nade with your hand and possibly dying when you have 100hp. Like most players Quickswitching is infact a reflex. I cant scout/awp without doing it or sometimes even use a rifle, and when i dont do it its usally cause i *edited* up doing it or i miss the wheel. Also i agree bunny hopping is lame, but who says that valve infact did not bother to fix the bunny hopping technique and actually wanted it part of the game? Look at other FPS games bunny hoping in them is usually impossible. Like in TFC they had bunny hopping in that and it was totally legit, TF2 bunny hoping is still legit. Quake, bunny hopping is legit. If valve wanted to make it so you couldnt bunny hop, quickswitch it would just be as simple as taking 3 programmers. Putting them in a room, and telling them what to do. Im fine with bunny hopping being banned, but quickswitching is just going way to far, and its not like bunny hopping where only people who practice doing it can do it. Anyone can quickswitch regardless if their new to source or a amateur at it. Just my 5 cents on this discussion. Bunny hopping banned? I could care less since im not very good at it. Quickswitching being banned? Thats like prohibitting Sikhs to carry their Kirpans. Regardless if its a knife or not.

longer than you blust =) but yet again…this is one time thing. I’m sure everyone of us can take an SS of when we have an extreme pwnage night. Bitey…you know Davey T rushes every single round and usually pwns somehow <.<

I will say this concerning previous comments about Awp’ers and setting up and getting flanked and all that jazz. Most awpers realize that when their teammates start dying…to fall back to a safer position that has only 1 or 2 ways of coming at him. This results in not being able to flank and or flash/smoke/nade him out of there.

Myself, i do not use the awp because, as Lucky said before, i suck with it but i have come to realize that you can beat an awper without smokes/flashes/nades, it’s called being sneaky and walking everywhere. It’s harder for an awper to shoot when they can’t hear footsteps or if you aren’t running. Most awpers usually put their aimer a set distance from a corner because of reaction time and that. In servers like Wcu, it’s farther than alot of people in Cal so this is why walking seriously helps taking out awpers. Most riflers get a shot off before they are awp’d, if it was a hs with an ak…GG awper but if it’s the M4, buh bye CT

AWP + Camping = not hard to get a score like that, when you sit back and are nearly impossible to get to cause all your team mates get killed first and wear the enemy down then its simple for you to pick them off.

People know my strategy, I rush, pretty much all the time, the only person I know who rushes more than me is Falcon. And I have gotten scores like this, I usually have more deaths but I don’t really care, winning is winning lol.

So what I am trying to say is I think I sleep better at night simply because if I kill you, you don’t feel anywhere near as bad as when someone AWPs you.

Actually, both maps except aztec i used an ak till end game, each time i picked the awp up at one point i died, causing those 2 deaths.

    rainefardreamer said:

plus the maps are tides, awptec and nuke, if you have a good team and are decent, there is no reason you can’t pwn

i die a lot, so it makes mine less impressive, but i’ve gone 36-4 on contra, 36-12 on dust2 and i’m sure i’ve had a ridiculous round on nuke, it’s easy to do well, i’ve seen sephy go 54-10 or something on tides with duelies and a mac10, so if you awped even 1 round, you still lose to that shenanigans

Correction on the team thing, with the ATB it would switch me which meant i maintained my score regardless of which team i was on, which in turn would nullify the fact if my team was good or not/which side i was on, and like i said to bitey i only awped on 1 of those maps which was aztec. That and most of the good regular’s of the server were on for either of the maps.
