We already have the sponsors guide.
yep and i would refer them to that
Bloodedge
ParticipantAnd have been for a while now. Just state the people you would need to visit to get the job done and potential sponsors to call to get prizes. Stuff like that. Build on it until it covers everything.
Bloodedge
ParticipantI was actually considering doing that.
Bloodedge
ParticipantAlso, I gotta say, Mortal Kombat 9 teams tournament play would be epically awesome (although I wouldnt have anything against 1 vs 1).

Interesting choices. I was expecting Mortal Kombat, but the lack of MvC3 surprises me.
If you would have seen the finals for it at the last LAN, you wouldnt be. haha

ParticipantOrgsync.com bro
Bloodedge
ParticipantThis is a notice to everyone who is running for a position tomorrow. Sign up for Orgsync, this is mandatory!
Bloodedge
ParticipantI want to get it, but im not sure. Its a toss up between this and Guild Wars 2 for me
Bloodedge
ParticipantDont worry BJ, the MvC3 stick is great and is made from the same materials as the MGL stick. Plus you get a bad *edited* faceplate with it as well!

no club was going to be able to have any power for thier booth
We’ll see how long that lasts. A couple groups have power every year and that’s unlikely to change.
Well if we can get it tomorrow I am gonna run home and grab some stuff to show off (MK9 and my TV).
Bloodedge
ParticipantYea…. bad news guys. I just got an email back from the chick running VB and she said that no club was going to be able to have any power for thier booth because of all the *edited* that the school is setting up for the event.
Bloodedge
ParticipantThey said that they couldnt provide us with power but im taking off of work tomorrow ask them if we could just use an extension cord to run some power from the UC. If so, ill bring the equipment, my tv and MK9 and we will attract us some freshman!
Bloodedge
ParticipantI havent played it but I want to. It looks amazing and Suda 51 kicks *edited*
Bloodedge
ParticipantI agree, I would love to do this but with Paint Crew and class, by the time I got down there with my equipment and set up, they would kick me out. And honestly, I cant think of anyone that isnt working that could do this for us. Its a good idea, its just the lack of willing people.
As far as the freshman LAN goes, just pick a date and let me know, Ill provide whatever you need.

ParticipantAll I am talking about is what i am told. Thats what some guys team was upset about and im pretty sure they were part of the people who ragequit. However i do agree with waffle in the fact that if people do spend their money on this stuff and want to use It then they should be able to. However, i also agree with lemm in the fact that we need to let them know that People will be using headsets. What we can do is have the two teams going against one another to either agree or disagree on the use of headsets, like we do when it comes to fightsticks for games like MvC3 and MK9.
And Waffle if you could send me those names, that would be great.

Participantkewl, thanks guys

ParticipantYea fightsticks are an interesting breed of controller. In my opinion, it makes playing games such as SF4 and MK9 feel nostalgic and fun! I kinda want to get one for my Wii to try Smash on it but if it runs at the same price as the other two (MVC3 $150, MK9 $180) I may have to wait.
But getting back on topic, I remember some of the new people were complaining about the headsets because, as previously stated by MasterP, it gives an unfair advantage to people who dont have them. Someone gave me the example of being able to hear footsteps behind a person in COD4 or the firing of a silenced pistol (which should not be possible without headsets).

ParticipantYea, E3 seems to be off to a great start today. Halo 4 was announced alongside new info on the Sly Cooper title and I was able to catch some gameplay footage of Batman: Arkham City. And based off of what I have seen (and considering the fact that I have AT&T) I may be picking up a Vita at launch, it looks awesome and the announced for it have me hyped. Concerning Project Cafe (or Wii2 as it is being called in some places) I am also excited to see what comes of it.

If you would like you can start the thread and we can move it to the news section if it seems fit.
fine consider my next post a part of what I would like to be an E3 thread.
Bloodedge
ParticipantWell if thats the case then could somebody at least start an E3 thread there.

“special” or “good” controllers (lol yeah ok)
Hey now, my super special super awesome marvel vs capcom 3 fightstick and mortal kombat 9 fightstick are AWESOME! Dont hate bro lol.
Bloodedge
ParticipantMy bad everyone I meant the Gaming Club News Section, not the Welcome Section. If someone with the powers that be could correct this for me, i would appreciate it.

ParticipantIt had something to dO with the Call of Duty tournament, I believe it had something to do with surround sound headsets during the tournament but I’m not 100% sure if that was it. But asking them why they left would be a good idea. Does anyone here know those peoples names?
Bloodedge
ParticipantAnother thing we should try to focus on are rage quitters. We had a huge amount of Freshman ragequit on us during the first LAN of last semester and I know for a fact that they did not return for the second, which hurt us. We need to look into more options to fix this problem.
Bloodedge
ParticipantMy dog Sophie does that all the time lol.
