ParticipantFor Kuros: Maybe, maybe not. I guess you can continue to presume I don’t know anything about or research what I say, if it makes you feel better.
For discussion: I get a lot of annoying deaths to the M3, sometimes at range, sometimes not, sometimes 1 hit, sometimes not… But I suffer many more similarly annoying deaths to the AK and on occassion the AWP. Do people really see the shotgun as being a more powerful weapon than the AK? How many people really go into a round and think to themselves, “I’m gunna buy a shotgun! – Because its overpowered and makes killing easier than any of the other standard weapons.”?

ParticipantReally. The horse is dead. We can stop beating it any day now. The execs discussed the points system and modified it accordingly. It’s being tested now and I played a lot yesterday and rather liked the changes. Considering that the point cap was raised to 15 I think that it will show itself to have evened out quite nicely.
Enjoy.

Participantor hey, maybe points aren’t everything?

ParticipantDisscusion doesn’t have to all about the executives and their decisions, maybe discussion can be about a topic people like to discuss so that a better understanding is available/attainable. Maybe discussion can be the community throwing ideas back and forth and not just setting up opinion-pins to be bowled down.

Certain people are going to complain about certain weapons. This thread is solid proof.

ParticipantWow… the amount of people who don’t get it. Point mods are great and all, but sometimes its nice to ‘talk’ about opinions without them having to be taken overly seriously.
I’m actually interested in learning about things like weapon usage, weapon physics, what people think and why – if anyone can continue this topic in that direction please do. Thats all I’m trying to do, so lets all get over the modifier crisis please?

I would recommend starting a new thread if you would like to go in that direction. I’m also curious as to what people have to say.

Cost of the time to download those pics? $0.25.
Cost of the internet that let you find them? $49.95
Cost of a point well made? Priceless.

Participantpink I agree with you, I think one thing that realistically might be neat if they added gun jamming to css. In real life some of these guns jam at a high percentage. Now by high percentage, i’m talking 2%. Which doesn’t seem like much, but say out of 1000 bullets 20 jam? let’s say it’s the m4, that’d be once every 30 clips or so. The m4 is a gun known to jam, not on the upper levels of the scale, but it does happen “frequently”. Just how the gun works, the ak on the other hand uses a different loading mechanism and is virtually impossible to jam. Pistols are also another thing. I think it’d be cool where the percentages could be put in and on random chance you’d have to take an extra 7-10 seconds and pull the clip, drop out the current bullet, replace the clip, and then continue. Might add something fun every once in awhile. Something else i’ve thought about over the years is recoil, not just updown but when you shoot a gun like an awp, or other high powered gun(any sniper, para) it’s very hard to do while standing and you get thrown back a bit. So people perched on ledges with awps would get knocked back a foot or so or stumble back and get knocked off. Again I think it’d be a neat, completely different idea, but realistic. Other than that I know a bit about guns growing up in rural PA, also bows. But Id love to talk about things like this.

ParticipantIf an admin would like to, it might be helpful to move my last post here about the weapons to a new thread, maybe start up a lil conversation about GUNS… and let’s throw alcohol in there too… Those go together quite nicely.

Participantif the shotgun is such a monster, which i’ll say given the right hands it is, then why does the autoshotty fail soo badly…
awp vs shotgun? they both *edited* me off…*edited* all guns that kill me *edited* me off… : ) except for the ump, then i had to give credit to the son of a *edited* who bought it and managed to nab a kill with it

The auto is less powerful, less accurate at range and has a smaller overall spray. The auto is only useful in close quarters vs. TMP/Mac10 in my opinion, however I refuse to use it at all.

ParticipantQuick reply, the autoshotty is a bit of a brainless weapon. In that, you really need to get the drop on someone, from behind or their side and have time to put in a few decent shots or one at point blank if you aim it right. Unfortunately the amount of noise a n auto shotty makes really doesn’t work with the need for a tactical approach, taking on more than one person generally gets you killed because as soon as you fire EVERYONE knows where you are, even taking on one person normally leaves them time to randomly spray at you and because you had to get so close to use the autoshotty you’ll normally take atleast a hit or more, which is leaving far too much to chance. The only thing its really good for is mopping up… if you’re on the type of close-quarters map where people are buying smgs its can work wonders against partially damaged combatants.
Erm, yeah. Weapon topic, I can try and get something up but I’m a little weighed down with some life issues, so no comment on when if no ones else gets around to it first. It’s just hard to put together a topic that can’t be pulled into being an angrily debated issue that ends up doing more harm than good. Hopefully we can all avoid that.
