Is anyone else starting to believe that Obama is the Anti-Christ and that the world will end at the end of his term in 2012 like the Mayans thought?

He’s a well-spoken man preaching and promising to a Nation false hopes, who is now one of the most powerful men in the world. Even I want to like the guy, but I feel as if this Obama-care bill is Communist in nature and somehow also manages to allow funding of abortions (although from what I understand this has been promised to be changed) and whatever other kind of shady deal he made to get this bill passed.

It wouldn’t be so far-fetched to think that he already has the power to start a Nuclear holocaust being the Military’s Commander-in-Chief.

As far as I can tell he’s also managing to run this country into the ground and make people happy about it.. Although if I am right the world will end in 2012 before Obama-care is put into effect anyway.

BTW this is mostly a joke, but it seems to fit to me.

meh, heard him called that before. but i don’t think i know of the two people he would have to kill and display to the world. or at least it hasn’t happened yet. As for the mayan’s their decedents have already come out and called bull*edited* on the end of the world and there have already been some many failed set dates. Even Luther called the Pope of his time the anti Christ

Can’t say i’m for this health care thing. Hell even the Canadians say it’s a bad idea. But what could he possibly do in four years

Obama signed an executive order “preventing” the taxpayer funded abortion thing but the bill that was passed still allows it. The republicans put forward a motion to repeal that part but the democrats voted it through.

Anything Obama does via executing order and instantly be undone with an executive order. He’s the most pro-abortion president in history so you know *edited* well that part isn’t going last long.

I lol’d everytime someone mentioned the Canadian healthcare system as a model we should emulate. They’re in the process of re-privitizing their healthcare system because the government can’t properly manage it.

So what if you all win in 2010, this bill WILL be forever. It may seem “unfortunate”, but to quote my good friend David Frum, “The republicans went for all the marbles, and got none.”

    Quote:

It’s hard to exaggerate the magnitude of the disaster. Conservatives may cheer themselves that they’ll compensate for today’s expected vote with a big win in the November 2010 elections. But:

    (1) It’s a good bet that conservatives are over-optimistic about November – by then the economy will have improved and the immediate goodies in the healthcare bill will be reaching key voting blocs.

    (2) So what? Legislative majorities come and go. This healthcare bill is forever. A win in November is very poor compensation for this debacle now.

    Quote:

No illusions please: This bill will not be repealed. Even if Republicans scored a 1994 style landslide in November, how many votes could we muster to re-open the “doughnut hole” and charge seniors more for prescription drugs? How many votes to re-allow insurers to rescind policies when they discover a pre-existing condition? How many votes to banish 25 year olds from their parents’ insurance coverage? And even if the votes were there – would President Obama sign such a repeal?

Here is a simple fact. The republican party failed. Hard.

BCBS let you stay on your parents plan until you were 26 anyway.

The plain and simple truth is that most Americans have no idea what was voted on last night. For instance, the democrats voted in favor of spending taxpayer money on abortion. Both the pro-abortion AND pro-life groups wanted that ban to pass. Both of them agreeing on anything is historic, that the democrats would swat it down to cover their own asses is nothing short of astounding. You do realize that *edited*ing off the pro-life, pro-abortion, and the 30,000+ insurance companies in this country, all in one night, isn’t a very bright move on the part of your party?

Another interesting fact is that we all start paying taxes on a healthcare plan that doesn’t start for another 4 years. Please explain the logic behind this. the need was so immediate, so urgent, that they had to ram this through without even attempting to get republicans onboard yet the only parts that start immediately are the ones that penalize and severely restrict the already declining insurance industry. You do realize their profit margins are less than 2% right? What happens when insurance companies start dropping like flies because they can’t afford to stay in business? Obama’s healthcare plan makes no plans for that and when people lose their coverage before Obama’s plan starts, and other companies can’t afford to pick up people beacuse they can’t stay in business charging someone with cancer the same rate as a healthy 20 year old, what happens to them? They’re stuck without insurance is what happens. Obama can’t make a company to force itself out of business and he can’t make Americans buy a good or service under penalty of fines and imprisonment. This bill is going to get struck down so *edited* hard it’s going to make Nancy’s head spin around like an owl.

How many democrats had their vote bought? All a republican has to do is find out what the price of their opponent’s vote was and heavily advertise that. They win by default. Hell a few of them were bought with nothing more than a ride on Air Force One. How is that going to look in the ads during the election cycle?

Here’s another tidbit, Obama’s “strongly disapprove” numbers are equal to Bush’s when he left office. Chew on that one for a minute. It took 8 years for people to really hate Bush this much but Obama got there in 14 months. GG my friend. At this rate your “historic” president will leave only one mark in history, the most hated president of all time.

We can sit here and make speculations on how many people got their vote bought…but that’s all it is, speculation. Besides, getting bought out isn’t something new.

I bet you read Rasmussen numbers with your coffee in the morning. Here’s a little tidbit for you, Rasmussen is always 10-12 points off. Obamas numbers are as low as bush’s on which polls? Please show me ole wise master of p

I agree that we need Health Care Reform I do not agree with the way it is currently being handled. Right now, yes every person will have health care, but only for the most normal things. With the current health care reform plan, insurance companies and doctors say to your odd diseases I am sorry but we no longer support that disease. WTF I am sorry but that is just unacceptable.

The healthcare industry needed change but this is not it.

Doesn’t matter, this will come under judicial review. Requiring all americans to have health coverage is illegal under the constitution.

Guess this has turned into a more political argument than the initial topic.

I think i’ll just watch and see if this thing works or fails before i criticize too much. It seems like it was made on good intentions but everyone knows what they say about those.

I was originally going to post this in the political discussion, but due to my remarks regarding the anti-christ etc.. I decided to put it here.

Nevertheless, I do believe this Bill to be unconstitutional and the fact that it passed has severely lowered any faith in our government that I ever had. I am not racist. I really want to like they guy. I’m impressed with the way he presents himself and his amazing speaking ability. I had thought that it would almost be best for him to stay in office again because he is the only person who would see any of his plans through about the economy and we would have wasted another four years, but he has done too much damage and I’m convinced however smart and charming he may be we have no need for anyone with these policies.

Listening to people talk about how this is compared to Social Security and Medicare makes me sick. Like those two programs are anything near a success right now. Social Security started out as a good thing but now there is no way to sustain it. The only reason to compare it to Social Security is to say that just like Social Security, we who will be paying for this Obama-care will never see any benefits from it. Programs such as these suffocate all motivation for people to better themselves. They are a far cry from a Capitalistic Society as we were meant to be.

Also, REFORM is a bad word for this Bill and I will never call it that. Reform means fixing something, not breaking it even further.

Finally, I would like to say that prohibition was once recognized too… for no more than three years.

Damage? what damage? You mean the fact that insurance companies can’t drop people for being sick? Or that people with cancer can actual afford treatment now? How can you better yourself if you are terminally ill? How can you better yourself if you have *edited*ing cancer and need thousands or even millions of dollars worth of treatment, but are dropped by your insurance company because you aren’t making them a profit.

Are you upset because we aren’t the same country our founding fathers created? Lets just reestablish slavery and drop the civil rights to get back to that capitalistic society you so care and dream about. Hell lets go back to the roaring 20’s, deregulate everything, let kids under 16 work over 40 hours a week, let our water and air become dirty as ever, and let the Corporations do whatever they want. Yeah, lets go back to no goverment, survival of the *edited*ing fittest baby that’s what we need. I want to be able to *edited*ing challenge people to a dual.

Making a profit on a tv, or car, or a *edited*ing cellphone is one thing, but the fact that people sleep at night knowing insurance companies make profits off of sick people is just disgusting.

Like the president said, it aint perfect…but it’s *edited* sure better than it was. The parts that people are *edited*ing about can be thrown out (and probably will be) But this bill IS needed and millions will benefit. All your speculations and worries are just that. The problem with this bill is not the cost, it’s not the idea behind it.

Well, it is the idea behind it.

The gov’t is forcing the american people to pay for something. They are punishing those who do not get healthcare. They are mandating what people can and cannot do.

This is overstepping the bounds that the constitution has set. The gov has no right to tell me that I have to have insurance.

Why should some poor piece of *edited* get my money that I’ve worked hard for, to treat the COPD that they put onto themselves.

You should ride along with an ambulance service for one day, work in a hospital for one hour, to see what I’ve seen at work.

You will realize these sob stories are nothing more than Bull*edited*, and if you saw the amount of abuse of the healthcare system, you would realize that this bill will do nothing but put us farther into debt, further the idea that it’s okay to live off the governments tit, and further reward the lazy and the homeless.

My Dad has sold insurance for 26 years and then been on the other side working for the SC Department of Insurance for another 10 and the number one problem with people is that they don’t read their insurance contract before they sign it. Insurance companies can’t just drop you for being sick, but they shouldn’t be required to take people who already are… It’s called insurance, meaning just in case.. no business of any kind should have to knowingly take a loss.

It’s a business just like anything else. If they didn’t make money what would be their motivation to provide insurance. Again that I stress if you are going to buy insurance, there should always be a chance you don’t need it or else it wouldn’t be called insurance. If that wasn’t the case then it would be impossible for any insurance company to even break even, let alone make a profit.

Maybe you don’t know how this economy thing works. Because If people with insurance dont have to pay more taxes, that means they will be taxing the poor without insurance, effectively making them pay for insurance(This is not how it works, if you knew anything about this bill)

They are taxing people’s insurance policies also, have you read or watched anything on the subject?

Hospitals are required to treat people and to get them stable.

Tax payers do not pay for the uninsured. Insured people end up paying for them, in higher healthcare costs. Why do you seem to think tax payers are paying for them

they are taxing the retardedly huge “GOLD” plans that insurance companies have. YE OLE spreading the wealth around.(big issue with conservatives, me not so much) There will be tax cuts to small businesses and Old farts can afford more meds.

If insurance companies are going to drop like flies because of this, why then are their stocks going up?

“Even if Republicans scored a 1994 style landslide in November, how many votes could we muster to re-open the “doughnut hole” and charge seniors more for prescription drugs? How many votes to re-allow insurers to rescind policies when they discover a pre-existing condition? How many votes to banish 25 year olds from their parents’ insurance coverage”

In a few months do you really think people are going to be voting for someone that will take all that away?

I think some of you conservatives just want this to fail, a total collapse of the health industry, because that’s the only way republicans will get any substantial ground in 2010. People are angry but that will subside when they notice how cheap their meds are.

Yes, I think it will be a landslide.

The republicans have been trying to work with the democrats.(I do not call myself a republican, so don’t say im just going with pary rhetoric)

If you would have watched c-span for ten hours sunday like I did, you would have seen the republicans standing up and pleading with the dems to slow down and make a better bill.

They rushed this through, made backroom deals, and all that, just to wait 4 years until it’s implemented?

The republicans constantly said that they weren’t even allowed to help make this bill, that they are in support of healthcare reform, that they realize it needs to be done, but that there is a better way to do it.

I’m being totally serious though. Go ride in an ambulance, you will see unbelievable *edited*, and I’m not talking gruesome.

I pick up people every day, in government subsidized housing, in a ratty old house, with no smoke detectors, 3 small children. 50″ Flat Panel TV, xbox 360, blue ray with a stack of cd’s next to it, Biggest Stereo You’ve ever seen. Stainless steel refrigerator, dirty dishes piled up everywhere, you can smell the smoke in the house.

Person has COPD, is over 400 pounds and can’t walk and we have to call in for a bariatric stretcher. She’s on oxygen permanently because of what the smoking has done to her lungs permanently.

Takes the oxygen mask off to be able to smoke a cigarette because the oxygen could ignite.

We’re waiting on a *edited*ing fatty stretcher, and the cow is smoking a cig, while the cig is exactly what put her in the position she’s in now.

Why should I have to pay for her?

so what do we do about them? let them die? Better yet lets just round up all of them and gas them. Much cheaper and more efficient. I have no feelings for people like that. I can’t stand them either. There is no hope for her. But like you said she has kids, there is still hope for them. Iono i’d rather pay for hopeless dopes if it saves a decent person every now and then.

I’ve been in an ambulance before. My aunt works in a hospital. I see alot of drug abusers and diabetic wastes of life. But I also see people that genuinely need the help.
