I personally think the p90 would be the most ‘newb friendly’ but beyond that I can’t really say. I prefer the pump over any other gun and I’ve been playing cs/css for a long time. Simply put, I think its the ability the player has with the weapon that *edited*es someone off more than the player being new to the game and getting a few ‘spray kills’ in the process of learning
.A skilled player with the cp90 would naturally be more effective with any weapon over a person who just started playing the game

*edited* the pump has got to be the biggest noob gun; I don’t play source a whole lot but I read this thread and so much talk about the pump shottie and I was like whoa did I miss something? It was decent in 1.6 but not a noob gun. So I joined the server bought the pump and bam 3 kills the 1st round from med-long distances. WTF?!? I guess the pump is the new awp?
No, not quite. The awp is actually more powerful now because you can’t spam. Peeking with it is a whole new ballgame. Also the TMP= Tooooo much power. Auto Shotty is worthless though.
Yeah, that’s what isn’t right about the shotgun. Someone can take the autoshotty and hit someone once and do 30-something damage, needing 2-3 shots with it just to kill someone. The pump shotty on the other hand can literally just 1-shot people from a mile away, plus still extremely accurate while moving AND while jumping.

Expect it to get fixed and be realistic again sometime between now and HL3’s release.
lol. Yeah the pumps accuracy does not change whether you are jumping, running, *edited*ting, cartwheeling, freebasing etc.
pump shotty isnt a real gun..its a *edited* rocket launcher..especially in the hands of renton or zoso……but not gonna lie im good with the m4 and others but when it comes to the shotty i *edited*in blow at it, its a lil more difficult then ya’ll think
Lies I used it last night and I got some rediculous kills, if you strafe back and forth and aim at the head, most likely you will win, also strafing out from behind a wall and then back while firing when you come out works very well. I still dont get how zoso or renton get the one shot kills without it being a hs those confuse me greatly.

Well the one shot kills, can be from different factors and variables.. like if you shoot some with the shotty at a high chest range, and all the shards from the shot hit them, it kills them. The person being with low health. I know that WCU sometimes has bad registration (as my score showed yesterday with 45 – 7) that some guns work in mysterious ways sometime, i use all the guns and the shotgun is one of the trickiest guns to use i find, where it can be a piece of pigeon decay, or it can be a crowd rocker.
I’d have to say in my opinion that the cheapest gun is no gun, because even the AWP is dodge able you just have to time out the first shot, and strafe, they’re going to think that you’re going to just strafe back the other way, so strafe back the other way for 1 step, then go the other way. All guns have their downs and ups, look at the MP5 navy as where you can shoot in a straight line running, strafing or anything.. But sometimes you can shoot somebody in the head 3 times without killing them, same as the TMP and UMP, when people use the UMP, it’s usually from a dare or as a joke (huh davey, when we got everyone to rush with UMPs on dust 2) hahaha good times man.
There is only one key to get decent with the pump shotty. Pray to the counter-strike gods before playing and sacrifice your blood to them by using a semi-sharp ninja katana. After you do this, I promise you will be able to obtain the BS kill shots that everyone does to you.
