ibuilt my desktop 2-3years ago w/o ever taking one computer class in my life. It was so fuk’n easy!!! specing it out is the hard part. once you know everything will fit,, its srly legos. (assuming ones somewhat mechanically inclined) use the spacer washers on the mobo screws and tripple check the cpu is going in the correct way and dont push down on it… everything else can only go in one way, its not rocket science.

You’ve obviously never worked in a computer shop and had to straighten the pins of processors seated incorrectly. Humanity isn’t as smart as you give them credit for.

so i had to get a quick fix computer wise for this overseas program I’m going to be a part of. I had to get a laptop and just went ahead and bought a MacBook Pro. Wondering what ya’ll thought about them, so far its pretty *edited* sexy, the only draw back is I have to play steam through another program. Which is a major drawback for me, but if it gets me to play less games and get more work done, then its a step in the right direction lol.

    Specs(straight from Best Buy):

    2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo / 3MB shared lvl2 cache

    2GB of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM

    250GB 5400-rpm hard drive

    15.4 LED @ 1440 by 900 pixels

NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT graphics processor w/ 256MB GDDR3 memory

    a bunch of other *edited*.

pretty standard i guess, i resisted as long as i could, the urge to come to this dark side, but this pro with its black and silver body and led light shining under the keys sucked me in; so sexy, pricey, but sexy. Financing ftw

Macs are the most expensive computers you can buy that can’t play games.

    Way to waste your money.

yeah but I already have a gaming computer.

this is the one i impress the ladies with B)

    edit:

Oh and I can play games on it, including steam games (yay!). “crossover” is the name of the program, and i don’t even need a copy of windows to run it.

I also find it kind of amusing that when I do load and run a version of vista, it runs faster on this MacBook Pro than on a PC with similar hardware. rofl did i mention it has lights under every key? lol

It won’t when you load it down like a normal computer. It’s the exact same hardware, it’s not any faster. The process, ram, harddrive, and video card don’t work harder or go faster because they’re in a Mac chassis.

    I have 2 macs…

Mac Pro and a Macbook Pro. Love em. I don’t use em for gaming (unless its like…a mac only game…lol).

Mac Pro has 2 4870s cookin in that puppy….well not cookin actually, cool as ice and virtually silent.

2xQuad Xeon…yea…octocore. 16GB ram FBDIMM memory. Love it. But I’d never put windows on it again.

Ok so, yea. My PC is almost the same when it comes to specs, except of course for the processor. I only have one i7 in there, but still. 16gb DDR2 memory and 2 4870s. I see no real difference when running windows…actually, none at all. I find I actually get better rates on my PC than my Mac Pro when trying to play something like GTAIV.
