Nickname to be so smart I swear sometimes you act retarded. Computers do a lot more than play video games…that doesnt mean thats people use them for other things. I asked what he wanted to use the computer for and the only response I got was “fast internets and to play games”. The fact of the matter is that for the price, the e8500 is the best bet for games. Now if he wants to spend more $, then by all means please go buy the Q9550+ but considering that runs $320 vs the $190 for the e8500, you can’t compare them.
Please go do some benchmarking and looking around and see what processor is faster in whatever programs you use most. tomsharware has some here: http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop…chmarks,31.html and in each of the game tests there, the e8500 beats the q6600 (the original CPU he was looking at). And actually the e8500 was faster in photoshop, itunes, acrobat, etc.
But hey what do I know, I act retarded.

Participantdo NOT buy a computer from ibuycomputer or cyberpowerpc etc. It looks like that is where this is coming. If you don’t feel comfortable putting a PC together and dont know somebody else who will do it for you, buy a name brand computer.

Participantit is from ibuycomputer they have great deals and its an easy to handle site so far.
November 21, 2008 at 10:09 am #64275Nickname
Participantthey really don’t have “great deals” compared to building it yourself and some of the parts they use (such as power supplies) are usually very low quality unless you pay to upgrade them; plus their support is terrible.

Participantibuilt my desktop 2-3years ago w/o ever taking one computer class in my life. It was so fuk’n easy!!! specing it out is the hard part. once you know everything will fit,, its srly legos. (assuming ones somewhat mechanically inclined) use the spacer washers on the mobo screws and tripple check the cpu is going in the correct way and dont push down on it… everything else can only go in one way, its not rocket science.
November 21, 2008 at 10:33 am #64279YouWinGameOver
Participanti took a class where we stripped a desktop apart and then *edited*ed up all the parts aka the prof dumped them on the floor and said now you have to put it back together and it has to run…welll i did but it was 6 yrs ago now.

You might get lucky and have it turn on but just because a computer turns on doesn’t mean it was built right or that the parts are perfectly in sync with, or designed to run with, each other.
Btw, if you didn’t use math when spec’ing your system out, you didn’t do it right.

If you are doing a system correctly, there is a *edited* ton of math for an Intel system and an ever bigger *edited* ton of math for an AMD system. If you’re worried about building it, PM me for my address and ship the parts to me. I’ll build it, install your Windows install and update it for a very small fee. Then just pay the shipping and I’ll mail you the completed system fully configured in both bios and Windows. I’m serious by the way, send me the parts and I’ll build it, otherwise you can wait 2 months to complete it like someone else we know
