Adam FaulknerParticipantWhy dont you state exactly what was done wrong and what you think should be done about it. Say it in one sentence or less.
Remember that we can impeach people. However if you are going to hang out other people laundry to dry, you may have yours tossed in the fire. Be careful with your words.
On a side note this thread is trash ..

Agreed. If you’re going to reset the server, do it at 3-5am when you know no one is going to be using it. Aphrodite and TRON are both production servers and are rarely given the respect that comes with that title. Unless there is something quantifiably wrong with the server there is no reason to touch it at all and there is absolutely no reason to RDP into it unless something major is wrong.here is the response when i asked him why it was restarted.
(10:10:33) Liam: Yes, I really restarted the server because MySQL kept crashing with memory errors.
having that said if mysql was crashing then .. i would have restarted it also if i found something on google that says it might fix it.

I think Karen hit the nail on the head. Why did you even bother having the admins sign a rules thread if nothing was going to be done when the rules were broken? You might as well trash that entire thread and not even bother making the new admins sign it because it’s been proven that they don’t mean anything. I’m not saying Bitey is a bad president, in fact, I would not have helped him get to this point if I did not have absolute confidence in him. I do not agree with the general direction of the club. Server population is not everything, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes as Bitey is slowly but surely beginning to learn. When I took over, the club went into a rut, I’m not surprised to see it do the same with Bitey and it’s not his fault at all, it’s just the way it goes. But rather than ignore what I have to say after running this club for two years, I’d like to think that my opinion on matters at least counted for something. It has been made obvious to me however, that they do not. That is why I removed my executive permissions and rejoin the masses as a mere member. There is no point in submitting opinions that are going to be ignored. I’m not going to waste my time. Please dont think that what you post goes unread .. read most of the posts. I think it would make it stick out more if we had an app that would be a “ask for a change app” so you can submit something you would like changed/overturned. I know we talked about it in the past. Maybe then things wont get overlooked.
you say
“When I took over, the club went into a rut, I’m not surprised to see it do the same with Bitey and it’s not his fault at all, it’s just the way it goes.”
i guess only time will tell. But if one person wants it to fail they can have alot of pull.. which side are you on man?

Just because you have the power to do something doesn’t mean you should. And on another note…mysql is a service…it can be restarted without taking the entire server down.

Adam FaulknerParticipantyou never said who or what was done .. Vagueness will get overlooked.

ParticipantDespite popular belief, I am not here to start drama and will not name names. It is no longer my job to call people out for screwing things up. The people in charge know who did what.

Adam FaulknerParticipantwe have had a long record for forgiving admins as long as they understand the mistake that they made and that they did something bad and promise not to do it again.
like .. really do you guys think we should ban for that little mistake?

Participanti dont see y if u kuros care for this club would post all these negitive things. and if u havnt noticed the sever i think has been more full wiht bitey as president. He is doing a great job and it is not bad to have a little sympathy towards admins “everyone makes mistake” quote by hannah montanna.

I simply stated things that I belive the club are doing wrong. For your information, I fought map voting as hard as I could when it was reinstated. Maybe you should do some digging in these forums and see that I was completely against the changes that killed the source server. The server also repopulated before I resigned. You should really do your research before you bash someone.
No I don’t think he should have been banned for doing what was done. I do believe that he should have been suspended. If we do nothing, why even bother having rules?

ParticipantOk here it goes:
Being an admin is a privilege. If you mess up you should lose that privilege. You read and signed the rules when you became an admin and should abide by them at all times. That kind of behavior reacts bad on you, this club, and our university.
Also, just because “the sever i think has been more full wiht bitey as president” does NOT mean its because Bitey is President now nor does it mean that everything in the rest of the club is running nice and smooth. Falcon has been a major contributor to change for the CS:S server which is the main reason for its recent revival but just remember that the server is not the club, but simply a single part of the club.

ParticipantRegardless of all this nonsense and nay-saying that has been going on, I appreciate those of you that are in support of me and I hope that I can change the mind of those of you who do not think I am doing the right thing. Please remember that though I was VP I have not exactly had the here is how to be president handbook or anything like that. I am learning as I go, Shane has been a big help to me and I appreciate everything he has done for me. All I hope for the club is a continuing growth of not only the servers but community that we have here, so instead of going against each other how about we all start pulling together and actually get something done. As for the not suspending the admin in question, well I have my reasons, people that don’t cause problems or make a habit of doing things don’t really deserve to be immediately suspended because of something like that. But another person who always causes problems and is always right on the edge may find themselves banned. It is a decision that I will have to make every time something like this happens, because I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, and giving people more chances than maybe they deserve, however it is easy to ban someone, just as it is easy to suspend someone, so thats how I work.
