Hey speaking of source. I have a 256 graphics card, radeon 9550, or something like that, but source still lags. Whats the deal, do i need more RAM or could it be the sound card???

I have a 256 fx 5200 limited edition and it only runs source at 20-30 fps. It’s not all in how much ram the card has, more or less it’s how fast the gpu and how fast the ramdacs are.

You’re lucky then – my 5200 could barely get 8fps on the lowest settings. More likely Yoda’s problem is CPU-related.

If he has a dual monitor set up like you, he could run the task manager on one and see what his cpu usage is.

geforce 7600 hear gameplay average on CS:S 130-95 staring at a wall i get up to 150

Same here, I have a GeForce 7600- runs CSS at at least 150 fps on highest settings with Limewire, iTunes, Firefox, Thunderbird, Photoshop, and AIM running in the background. What CPU do you have?

    Yeah that’s weird, when I play CS:S I normally get around 65 trillion fps…

Hey kuros, what kinda FPS do you get in 1.6? I got a geforce 4200 ( yes i know crap but I aint got money) and while playing with low settings, and high rates etc, can only get about 20 – 30 fps. 60 if no ones moving, 70 on a wall. 8 in gas :P

    Other specs:

    Asus P4s533-e delux main board

    p4 2.8 14( maybe 16 i forgot micron cut) 1mb cache mem

    1 gig Kingston Accel Ram

On board sound ( who cares really)

I switched back to a 7200rpm HD ( busted my seagate sata)

Yah any ideas what im doing wrong?

BTW full driver updates, and 40 – 43 processes running

    CPU usage at roughly 40%

    Ram at 1/4 usage.

That post up there doesn’t matter anymore, I now have a 7950gt ko which owns anybody on this forum.

x1900 has nothing on this overclocked card. It has a faster core clock than an 8800 gts
