I guess the issue of being blind to the issue is an issue that cannot be resolved. But you will never truely resolve anything for a communal space by only seeing from one or a limited perspective. The sadest part is that there are two sides and both are pretty much reflections of each other, the rule just serves to benefit one group of people while making life harder on another when an Admin chooses to do so. The game isn’t perfect so I guess the rules don’t have to be either.
But frankly I don’t trust the loop-hole of allowing Admins to interfere with clans on a whim, as had been happening, which brought around the retaliation of as far as I know one individual, which then leads to arguements and strife and then the resolute impression that Admins now have totalitarian power when dealing with clans, specifically DcPN which represents a good sized portion of the active playing community.
Yes as you say, you can’t ban tags, nor can you moderate clans without tags, nor social circles which dominate and upset the team balances far more than clans have or will.
It’s WCUGs place to choose who they support. I guess according to this rule being used by some as an anti-clan device, I would be wrong to assume they support their public community as a whole or that they in one way support any part of it. Obviously according to what you say WCU Gaming supports its non-affiliated individuals which is most likely the servers minority, over their affiliated ones. And anyone in a clan will have to forgo their individual rights they were previously allowed, unless they’re sneaky and wear no tags or do not declare clan affiliation in which case stacking is fine. Because all too often its an Admins team that gets stacked, and not all admins are as good as Goat and the like.
Some Admins use loop-holes too. Some Admins like to “… don’t see …” when it benefits them and seemingly see more than anyone else when when things don’t go their way.
If Rules allow such things to happen, then they’re no longer rules, they’re just become officially recognized excuses.
I am not being blind to the issue, I’m just stating that there is no changing of it due to the implications that would be taken into effect if we allowed clans to stack.
The admins are kept on a leash, and a tight one at that. Anything that they say and/or do is kept on log files that are checked regularly for any abuse. Admins are allowed to use their own judgment when it comes to clans stacking, ghosting, etc. If a clan shows up with 3+ members then they are to be split proportionally so to prevent ghosting to the best extent that we are able to. Clans (or teams) are viewed typically as better players because they’re on that team, and while this is not the case most of the time, it still brings views about the server and whomever runs and owns the server back to those that run and own the servers. Our admins don’t have “totalitarian” power when it comes to the server. Because of the way our club is founded, the executives are the head admins and are the ones that make the decisions whenever they are in the server. When an executive is not present then the admins are law. We don’t just accept anyone to become an admin for our servers and those that screw up and turn out to not be such great admin choices are revoked of their administrative powers. Now when concerning DCPN, true they are a large populous of our server. Why? Because they all first started playing and stayed on our server. They were there when we split up the earlier clans, such as aCe and whatever team blgx had. They knew the rule and agreed and asked for us to split up the clans when they stacked, and now that they are a team, they need to abide by this same very rule they wanted enforced when they weren’t in one.
People do not forgo their individual rights when they enter our server and not one single person is supported and affiliated with the gaming club unless they are an executive, an on-campus student with administrative rights, or an admin that we approve. Anyone that becomes an admin must read and agree to the rules we have stated for admins and must be a part of our community. Those that play in our server have the choice whether to read the MoTD which includes our rules and then thusly abide by them or not. If they come in and decide to not agree to our rules then justification ensues and the issue is handled by our admins or executives. By clicking the “OK” button whence upon entering our server, they forgo the ability to do ANYTHING but play the game and abide by our rules. The rules aren’t complex, the rules aren’t hard, and the rules are extremely simple to follow. If the clans wish to not wear their tags and play together, then if the teams are properly balanced and both sides have an equal chance of winning, then that is fine. If they decide to remove their tags, ghost, and unbalance the teams then appropriate action will take place.
If admins are using “loop-holes” to better themselves, their score, or something else then please inform any of us either on the forums, a PM, an IM, or on IRC about this issue and the administrator in question will be reprimanded appropriately.

Participanti’ve removed my tags and usually auto-assign and auto assign doesn’t prevent team stacking nor does the team balancer… ok now for the good stuff… everyone knows who we are, the clan was practically built from wcu regulars… so lets all be on the same team without the tags… then its fair right

i think having people auto assign is just as an important issue and most likely the lack there of causes more problems than this… but everyone simply hopes they are on the good team and they don’t want to ruin that for themselves… dasterdlies
p.s. i know thats not a real word you don’t have to tell me, lol

Participanti personally think the lightromantics group is much more annoying than the Dcpn group, also i remember that De[x] was about half of the regulars, so whatever , but recently i haven’t noticed that much of a problem

ParticipantI and Bracket have set a rule (To end the endless *edited*ing about the clan) that no clan member will be allowed to put their tag on while playing in WCU. Visually, this will kill any fact that anyone is stacking.
There you have it.

Participantno you get baned for ghosting, just because you take the tag coming into the server does not mean your not part of the same team.
The entire point of all this is to make the gameplay fair for everyone

Now that is good Thank You KurosTaking off your tag doesn’t change the fact that you are still with this team that you practice with. Tag or not, that’s called ‘stacking’ Mr. Pubstar. Just because I’m resigning doesn’t mean I don’t still have power. My resignation is not official until the first meeting, when a new president is elected. Keep that in mind before you run your smart mouth again.

ParticipantI deny that anyone who wears a DcPN tag in wcu, Is actually in DcPN.
We do not ghost, Hell we are hardly on vent anymore, We use vent for scrims or if something is up. Wildthang, one of your admins is in vent with us most of the time, And he doesnt allow us to ghost, Regardless if he was there to tell us not to ghost or not, We wouldnt, We are almost all WCU reg’s and we play for fun, not to ghost and ruin fun. Get that through your head.
And for those of you who think pink has been here ‘3 weeks’
..Good game.

Deny away. None of us are stupid and most of us do know who is in DcPN simply for the fact that this has been blown so utterly out of proportion.
The members of DcPN, I’m not saying all of them, but some of them are very guilty of stacking. They still stack but at least the balancer moves them now. *shrug*
So keep beating a dead horse and keep complaining over this or let it go and play to have fun. Sometimes people screw up. Sometimes people just dont like other people. Sometimes people just want to be mean for no apparent reason. Whatever the cause, reason, or whim behind all of the arguing, just let it go and get back to having fun and letting the drama die off as it needs to. There’s more important things going on, like where to go get lunch at today.
Have a nice day.

ParticipantFlakes bringing the heat

Seriously how hard is it to not stack. Just don’t *edited*ing do it. If you can’t have fun without abiding by the rules just go away. There are thousands of servers out there. More so since you are a team, assumming yall are gonna play something like cal, why are you getting most of your play time in a pub anyways. It does next to nothing for skill.
Also, on the importance of rules. Look at ASU, they can’t enforce there rules, keep there admins on an even and just keel, or use some common sense. Likewise there server is dead or dying even more than it was. Us admins will not let that happen here.
August 15, 2007 at 11:01 am #24638Bracket
ParticipantWe dont spend all our time in a pub, But I’m not even gonna bother saying anything on this matter anymore, You’ll all find something new to *edited* us, Or more so, Me out about.

ParticipantSorry I would’ve corrected that comment myself, but frankly, explaining how something is wrong to be confronted by ignorant conjecture was just to hilarious and has dragged the whole issue back down to the depths of schoolyard politics.
The official stance is, the issue will not be resolved. Fair enough, I guess we’ll all have to make the most of the situation in game. As Liam already stated.
I would’ve just rather avoided needless confrontation and e-penis wielding while trying to play.

What you believe is wrong and what is correct for the server are two different things. Unfortunately, you do not know how to run a server much less know how to deal with the politics of running a school supported club. Every single executive will tell you the exact same thing I have in my posts, and most won’t go about it as in depth about it as myself. Unfortunately, since you can’t handle the fact that you are wrong, you decide to come back into the thread and insult the way we handle and manage our servers and the playerbase. To you, unless something is specifically mentioned in the MoTD, it is completely legal. People use their own judgment and if it is obviously skewed, illegal, and wrong then action takes place and consequences happen.
The official stance is, there is no issue. The rule is that you don’t stack, tag on or off. People know you’re on a team and when they see you on the same team, they believe you’ve stacked the teams and are ghosting with one another. Ghosting is of course illegal.
I would’ve rather you just not try to tell us how to run and manage our servers when you don’t know how to to begin with, no e-penis wagging or wielding here except your own, which is quite tucked between your legs now as you back away and realise you’re wrong and upset about it.
August 15, 2007 at 3:42 pm #24665pinkcs
ParticipantThe ignorant conjecture I was refering to was the fact that people keep coming back and saying that stacking is wrong. Everyone agrees, yet everyone demonizes a defence of DcPN. The fact of the matter is, they’re not stacking, and the majority of the issue arrised over night as one person retaliated against the Administration. Again no one is saying that was the right move.
None of this, is as you’re taking it, a personal attack on you or WCUGaming, but you have a public forum full of public opinion, if you take personal offense to mine, all you have to do is stop reading. Which, I did do until I was brought up.
The fact that you seem to insist on making this a personal matter is getting old. Now in the interest of politeness, feel free to reply and have the last word.
August 15, 2007 at 3:44 pm #24667Kuros
ParticipantThis forum is out of hand and I am closing it. Bottom line: Do not stack, ghosting or not. It’s a well known server rule. That goes for DcPN, aCe, de[x], it doesn’t matter what clan it is. Don’t like it? Don’t play here.
