Who is *edited*ing the the Alumni’s corn flakes? Who is “you guys”, cuz I for one advocate Alumni support. I even liked the whole idea of the alumni voting, but SGA didnt. What are we suppose to do, tell SGA to get over themselves?

Yup mitch, you are being a negative nancy, but anywho, the main point of getting them to sign a document is so if we have ANY problems with a member not following the constitution, and we decide to take action against that individual, we will have a solid example (the document) stating they arent abiding by their agreement. Now, as for the non-student thing, we had no stake in that, it was SGA and campus staff that did. This is a student organization, and is student ran. I personally love all the thought and effort the Alumni give us, and next semester I will try to contribute the same, however, SGA, the one’s who tell US what to do arent so keen on the idea (hence the change).

And yes, it is possible for an individual to become a member in one semester, but hell, is it so much to ask that it just SOUND easier, and to make MORE sense, lord….

“In order to become a member within the Western Carolina University Gaming Club, one must be a current student at Western Carolina University, attend a minimum of two official LAN events and at least half of the meetings every year”

That last part is the one that needs to be cleaned up, mitch. As its half within a years time, if we had 3 in one semester, and 5 the other, that would be 8, meaning the member need to come to 4, not just the 3 from the first semester.

Regardless of past presidents, this gives us a foot hold forward, regardless if anyone actually ever reads it.

Just to give everyone a heads up, at the next meeting there will be quite a few amendment changes . These include having all members and new members here out to sign a paper stating to uphold the constitution, and stating they know what is in the constitution; adds what I call the “babysitting” clause, basically saying a student is a representative of the club at all times, and if they dont act that way, they will be reprimanded, then have their membership status revoked (if they get reprimanded twice or more); shortening of the membership requirement from one year to one semester; and re-opening membership to all students for a two week time period.

This opening of membership status is for all students who have in the past been to atleast one Lan, and atleast one meeting. If this requirement has been met then the individual/s will have full membership status, and can run for executive positions within the meeting.

For any more details, or if you want to help me word these new changes *cough*ASHLEY*cough*cough*, then let me know.

Freezer has a few changes he wants also, once I have looked over them, I will post those on here as well.

Wow, thanks for the positive support guys, this is something I REALLY want done.

The main shirts I want are a purple and gold one, for western colors, a cool looking red one (cuz I like the red), and then a green, black, or brown color just to be different. The beauty of the guys im going through is they have TONS of shirts to print on. When we make an order, I just tell them what colors, and bam, there it is. They have some cool looking pinks (for the girls), reds, nice blues, just all kinds. Our order can mix and match, so no problem there.

We really just need a good logo, and thats it.

The only thing is, there is a first time $35 art fee, cuz all t-shirt businesses have some fee like this. But Im thinking if we make the one solid white image, they said they can recolor it in the printing software to mix and match colors. So we can make purple and gold, or red and white, or what ever.

All the positive support has pushed me to get this done. My goal is by the first LAN at the latest. I want the shirts to be ready by the first meeting, so we can show them off everyone, but its ok if not.

Now, that $35 fee. I was thinking we could either use club money to pay this (not my fondest idea), have the executives chip in like $5 a piece, or just have anyone who wants to donate a few dollars to the art fee to get it gone.

Ya know, your larping and all its role-playing is cool and all, but question? Is this really considered a game? lol?

I would call it more of extreme acting, lol

Best idea I could come up with to describe the genre. What would you guys call larping?

Just read this was in the “Alternate gaming topic” and automatically thought this, lol.

And as a side note, yes mike, H.V.Z IS a game, I call it extreme tag!

I for one wholly support this new constitution. We have been trying to push through it for months, and we finally have it finished now. Besides the slight cosmetic changes, and small ideas to review here and there, I believe this is a very solid document that should be with standing for years to come.

As far as the alumni vote is concerned, I was always in favor of some sort of alumni vote, even if its only for game voting, but alas, SGA isnt having this one. They claim no “non student intervening”, thus the new alumni part.

Anyways, looking forward to tonight, hopefully we can “fix” the club up with this

I personally like the idea of making it easier for newbs to get into these tournaments and have more fun, and im all for trying new ideas out SO LONG as they dont screw stuff up, that is why i asked casey to start this petition so you guys could voice your opinions.

I personally think we should have a little randomization along with teams, so we have the best of both worlds, so my idea is to have teams of two come in, and get randomized into a four man team so its 4 v 4 until the end when the last two 2 man teams face off.

The plans are to still have total randomization across both games, but please consider these things in your future posts:

-sign whether or not you you agree with this petition or not, and please reason why

-tell which of these two games, if any, you are FOR A FACT going to be a part of come Oct 31. As Xbox 360 Leader my main focus is going to be the participating players (but i will take all opinions into consideration in the end)

-tell how you stand on my new half randomized idea above

At the last meeting we discussed the option of randomizing players into teams every round to even the playing field for certain players so to speak. After discussing this with some gaming club members it seems many are greatly opposed to this method. I have told them to voice their opinion on the forums here, and exile has created a petition to start teams up again here: http://www.wcugaming.org/forums/index.php?/topic/12528-official-petition-to-change-the-lan-settings-for-codhalo/

I hope everyone on the boards can look at this thread and voice their opinion as we all have different points of views that can be voiced.
