The constitution is not a single issue, though I don’t see the constitution party with any traction. That’s but one example.

Maybe, but many of them also have more than 2 that actually have a shot at being elected. Our system of parties is complete bs.

Oh, OK. As for the firing of Mark Dybul, it was done because he was pushing to use as much of the money as possible for abstinence only programs, so it seems to be a policy difference that got him fired. Plus, It’s not like someone else can’t do the job inline with the new policy. At the very least it doesn’t seem to be arbitrary.

wow, I guess this really is just an excuse to troll…I’m all for accountability regardless of party, but “Bush did nothing wrong?” This is certainly not intelligent discussion.

I never said anything about african aid causing a crisis, and with regard to Katrina, the argument that fema is not “his department” doesn’t even mean anything. Of course there are directors for all departments, but the President sure as hell has sway over them. The point is that bush did essentially nothing for an extended period. Also, nobody blames the actual hurricane on him. That’s not what people mean when they say “remember Katrina.” They’re talking about the failure to respond.

FEMA = FEDERAL emergency management agency, meaning that the Chief of State/Executive can and should most definitely guide it in a time of crisis.

I think you did a good job but I would add marketing/advertising to the “needs improvement” column. The president should take a more active role in making sure people are being brought into the fold and the club is expanding its base. I understand you had a lot to do but would it have been possible to better delegate power specifically to efficacious individuals for marketing?

So lemme get this right…your best defense of the entirety of the bush administration is how he put us even further into debt spending money overseas while simultaneously not helping Americans?

Yeah man, just gotta free up some of that time of yours… :( You hafta start lettin me know when we can smash, and if it’s mostly saturdays, then we’ll just have to crew practice more instead of the usual stuff.

Living here is good and bad. We’re not really close to a lot of the NC smashers, but are to lots of other states. Duluth Georgia holds big regional tourneys (the tipped off series) and is only 2 1/2 hours from here. Tipped off 4 just happened and the pot was over a thousand. Darkrain (falcon <3) won singles and 650ish dollars. Peepee and Lozr won teams and nearly 500. So we def have to go to tipped off 5, probably around the next ASU tourney time.

Here’s the results link…very interesting and a good opportunity to play pros.

I thought about posting this somewhere else but I doubt anyone new will see it, though if the normal users have friends that don’t post on these boards and like melee or would be interested in getting better let me know.

Anyway, I’m seriously interested in going to tournaments again and practicing with a crew. For the moment it appears the next tourney I’ll be attending will be March 21st in Greensboro. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy with the WCU crew we’ve already put together (me, eyce, kazka, mole, and felix) but it would be amazing if we could get more talent to represent the area and state. Everyone I’ve been playing with has already gotten much better in a short amount of time, and I assume we will begin regularly attending tournaments. There will be another tourney at ASU in April which gives any new people plenty of time to become competitive players.

Again, It’s doubtful with the small amount of people active on these boards that anyone will care, but I have to try.

oh, nearly forgot…Kazka, you remember that freshman that played melee and came to a few of the saturday events a while back? I think he’d be a good candidate to join. Lemme know what you think and if you have any idea how to get in touch with him.

We need to figure things out cause i know you said something about a wedding and whatever. I’ve been re-bitten by the tourney bug and i’d probably be going to one every week if i could lol.

I’m definitely up for going, just need to figure out carpools cause the melee prize is for me. I wanted to go to their last one for melee but gas was so expensive the prize wouldn’t have paid for the trip.
