I never actually saw the movie, but I gathered from the trailers and reviews that Abrahms threw more sex and action scenes into the formula to get more young people in the theaters while downplaying the contemplative and philosophical elements of the series. This is what made Voyager and Enterprise inferior to the previous three shows.
One thing I am curious about: I understand that some sort of time traveling mishap changed the backstory of the original series and created a whole new timeline. Does this mean that the original Star Trek universe has been replaced or is it supposed to still exist in a parallel universe or something?
I’ve never really had an urge to see the Star Trek reboot. Even though everybody raves about how awesome it is, it just seems like a really dumbed down version of Star Trek.

I used to be really into WoW (my highest level character was a lvl 70 Undead Mage), but I just kinda got bored with it. Since Cataclysm came out, I’ve been thinking about getting back into it, but I wouldn’t be playing it enough to justify the $15 a month. Maybe this summer.
The new flyer has a picture of Marvel vs. Capcom 2’s cover, but it’s Marvel vs. Capcom 3 that will be played at the next LAN.

Is it just me or did things just get rather epic in here?
When I asked why there was no attendance sheet at the meeting, the answer I got was “there was no secretary when the meeting started.” It doesn’t take a secretary to make an attendance sheet, guys. One of the execs just needed to take out a sheet of paper and jot a couple things down. Durr.

I find it interesting that you completely failed to answer Mitch’s questions by bringing up irrelevant points.

Also, this flies in the face of a thoery I heard of why the game would never be released.
On Thursdays, I have a class running from 6-9, but it usually let’s out earlier. I’ll try to swing by and ask who won what. I may even make it soon enough to vote on one or two things. I get the sinkikng feeling that the meeting is just going to frustrate me.
Also, I accept the nomination of Lemm’s fictional orginization.

The PC Vice President refuses to do his job. The President refuses to make him do his job. Both of them refuse to visit the forums because people who complain about their performance are “being too mean”. As such, bringing attention to any problems with the servers on the forums will not reach the attention of the executives. The destruction of the online community through executive incompetence is one of the most disastrous things I have ever seen happen to this club. Most of the regulars (Major, the Pink Monkies, YouWinGameOver, Torankusu, ext.) have just stopped posting and one of the original intentions of the club (raising awareness of the school’s existence through the internet) has been abandoned.
