Anything with Drew is greater than any of our lives.
SO WHATS YOUR *edited*ING STEAM NAME TODAY? BALL MC BALLS|Hs|?
*edited*ing changes constantly… can’t keep up.
First of all..it’s CHRIS FARLEY! YOU INCONSIDERATE PRICK! Second of all, my name on Steam is Chris McLightning. Unless I play CoD, than it’s simply “McLIGHTNING”.

Yeah I read that a few days ago.
I agree with valve.
One thing that I wish valve would put it’s foot down on though is games restricting the number of times you can install them (only a few do this). Usually you get at least 5 installations, but still I’m not going to let anyone use my steam account so don’t try to penalize me for reformatting my hard drive.
Those games all come with deactivators. It’s not that big of a pain to deactivate GTA: EFLC or Crysis Warhead so you can reformat. You shouldn’t be installing them on 15 different machines anyway.

SpectatorThis game could be great for the club. Supports KB&Mouse on the PS3 version, and its crossplatform between PC and PS3. Would make for good lan tourneys.

What’s the deal with no in-game server browser?
The consoles get one…
Believe me, you’ll love the way it is now. The alpha was badass. You use Battlelog to choose your server (server browser), and the server browser is FAST. Unlike the BC2 one. It’s instant all the time. Once you choose your server, the game starts up stupid fast and connects you fast.
You’ll love the new system.

SpectatorI never had this issue in BF1942/2142/BF2. I played those games religiously. To me, this seems isolated to BC2.

Can you recommend an alternate Mobo? I want a good one (but don’t need the absolute best one).
Were you planning on going crossfire/SLI?
OR were you planning on adding a soundcard/extra expansion card?
I would suggest the ASUS Maximus IV Gene-Z. It’s mATX, but supports dual video cards (both SLI and Crossfire).
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131759&Tpk=maximus%20iv%20gene
If you’re not into mATX, I’d suggest this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128498
Either way, you want z68 as opposed to p67.
I would also suggest, for an AIR cooler if you’re overclocking, go with something like this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106150
or if you want to be able to see your motherboard, grab a corsair H80.
You’d be crazy not to OC a 2600k. They are BUILT for that. You can get at least 4.4GHz effortlessly on every chip, no matter the batch.
Derrick LeBrocq
SpectatorGood build, except for the motherboard…EVGA mobos…ew. Oh, and DON’T get ripjaws for Sandy Bridge. They’re SUPPOSED to work, but if you read up, there are multiple issues with them. The sniper series, on the other hand, is amazing.

SpectatorIf you can find a 6950 that is unlockable to a 6970 (they do exist, reference only), get one of those. Otherwise just get a 6970.

I don’t think that makes a difference. All that does is remind me that my ATI card with eyefinity and 4 video ports only supports 2 monitors.
It does in price of card:P
2GB GDDR5 on each of these cards, and the E-6 edition cards can support 6 monitors a piece.

Spectator170, for off brand ones maybe like visiontek or galaxy. XFX ones come at a premium, and appraised unanimously by hundreds of different people to be around the $200 mark because of both their condition and warranty. I trust them far more than what you say lol, because I know what the resell value is:P

they are good cards but you can buy a new 6870 for ~ 180 after MIR.. so I would think a used 5870 would be worth something in the $140ish range.
Except the 6870 is less powerful, and due to change in naming scheme, actually replaces the 5770 as opposed to the 5870. The 5870 was replaced by the 6970. I got an appraisal done on overclock.net, they are worth 200$ a piece in their current condition (dust free, fully reference design, transferable lifetime warranty).
So yes, WORTH roughly $200. Now to decide what I WANT for them…

In all seriousness, though, this is awesome:

SpectatorSay what you want about AMD, but they make a product worthy of my money. I’ll be upgrading to an 8-Core Zambezi when they come out, and I won’t do that until ASUS’ Crosshair V motherboards are released.
Derrick LeBrocq
SpectatorDoes this really belong in Gaming Club News? I don’t think so…
Derrick LeBrocq
SpectatorLike Bad Company 2, it will be another one of those console ports that is horribly ported, but still plays better on the PC.
What made me laugh is the whole “We’ll patch DX11 in sometime after release” debacle.
Derrick LeBrocq
SpectatorIt was a little over the $3000 mark. However, because I have a merchant account at NCIX.com, I have the ability to pay for it on a payment basis. Minimum monthly payment of 50$ a months:P
