Was thinking on this today. Checked my mail yesterday and there was stuff about room selection in there. Perhaps we should think about all getting in the same dorm/hall. This would allow us to get together for game nights easier. Seeing how Falcon says he’s not gonna come back next year. I’d like to get a roomy lined up for next year. Or if we could get a suite in Central, 3 suite mates.
I like TrebuShae’s sig. She admits to “kind of” liking fascist flakes, and I find it humorous. Plus it seems she is at a slight disadvantage as apparently her mom hasn’t mailed her the wacom thing…..

Rock Band is better without singing. so I would suggest bands of either 1 guitar and 1 drummer, or 2 guitars and a drummer. with combined total score on a pro face off mode like that of guitar hero.
but then considering the difficulty of the drum tracks. possibly hard on guitar and medium on drums.

I am in the CS dept. I’m sure it couldn’t be too hard to program a randomizer. plus it would be good practice for me.
Granted this is something I was going to bring up for discussion at the meeting, might as well get a start on it here.
As far as premade teams goes. I can understand a complaint that omg, I’m going to be teamed with some random person who I don’t know and never played with before.
Well, yea, thats not cool. but did you check the forums? there was a team formation thread of people looking for teammates.
For those who did not find a premade team, they can pick someone else who doesn’t have a teammate. I was partnered with Nalgenie for GoW. I had never spoken with her before, but big deal. I met her, she met me. We know each others name and face. And even though we got beat fairly bad in the first round, I had fun playing and isn’t that what the LAN’s are supposed to be about?
Could randomize those that don’t have teammates.
Brackets could be randomized by a program. I’m willing to write one specifically for us. I’m willing to donate said program to the club. So that it can be used for all tourney’s for the life of the club.
PGR3 was kind of a let down. We had about 8 to 10 votes for PGR3 to be played at the informal console meeting. and we only had 6 people there to play it. and several of the people who played it, were not there at the console meeting. What happened to all the racers?
I apologize for the networking issues involved with that game. It seemed to be the only game for the Xbox that didn’t want to system link. an unforseen, and hugely complicating issue. I think the bigger issue with the console stuff is not starting early enough. *shrugs* I had a great time in everything I played so its no big deal to me. Got to know some people.

I have inadvertantly exchanged connectors for Xbox wired controllers. the little extensions are greenish for the controllers and black for the guitars. I came with 2 green and 2 black, and left with 1 green and 3 black.

2. don’t assume you have to stomp the brake to take every corner. alot of corners in PGR3 if you slow a little bit you can coast through the corner.
3. start taking corners slow. find out how slow you have to go around a corner to take it smoothly. without creeping in, or sliding out.
4. go to playtime and follow a computer car around the track to get a good idea of the speeds that will work. Its a good way to learn the best racing line for each track.
5. try out different cars to find out which one suits you best. for PGR3 I suggest starting with the Radical SR3 Turbo. It is the best handling car in the game and will help you run those racing lines.
6. don’t take a car just because it has a high top speed and high acceleration. If you can’t control it, you wont be able to use that top speed.
7. speed out of a corner is more important than speed into a corner.

Good tips, I’ve already been working at alot of them, and I’ve seen an improvement over a couple days. Granted, not huge improvement. But the weapon tips are becoming, and keeping my mind on strafing have helped a good deal. I’ve went from always having a weak offense and an easy target to at times having a ridiculous offense at times and moderate others and a moderately difficult target. I love to get up close too. Watch out for my shotgun.
