And how exactly do you play for objective on Scoutzknivez?Recently I haven’t played SK — the last time I played it was me vs. too many, and I ended up getting knifed by noobs. -25 points per round is awful.

SpectatorYes, the drivers from nvidia.com or ati.com will work for any card, and there are plenty of third party drivers that also work. Manufacturer’s drivers are worthless.

Spectator1. The Athlon FX-51 required registered memory.
2. No manufacturer currently makes a motherboard that supports my processor.

SpectatorStarting playing CS:S again when I got the last upgrade for my AGP-based system, the X1950XT. Playing 1680×1050 on an X850XT PE didn’t give me acceptable frame rates. I was/am locked into AGP because I have the Athlon FX-51 (bought it when it was first available at $1000 bucks for the processor) and 2GB REGISTERED RAM (screw you early FX-51).
Upgrading my system to my satisfaction will run between $3200 and $4400, and I have other places to spend that money right now.

SpectatorLike I said in the other thread, and like a few others have said in this thread, objectives and winning the round become far more important than kills. Objective play is good. I can have a very high K:D ratio (12:1, for example) and it means jack if my team is losing the round and/or not completing the objective.
I expect to keep gaining points, though, in that I play for the win.

SpectatorPoints, at least at my rank, are primarily impacted by winning or losing the round — so by extension by teams completing the objective. That is to say that my kills are worth squat and dying owns me, so to make up I have to plant/defuse/rescue/win every round. I ranked up relatively quickly by killing lots of people, but now the point system encourages that I play for a win each round, especially wins by completing objectives.
Playing for the objective is good. Heck, it’s part of the MOTD!
