SpectatorTo get switches that will do what we need will cost several hundred bucks. Best to keep working with ITS, especially since Keith wants us to do it that way anyways.

SpectatorWhy don’t we get a couple of these

If Reslive is covering the cost of food and drink then we definately need more drinks and maybe a 2nd (smaller) pizza run. By 9pm there we were out of Coke/Pepsi and I couldn’t get my fix.

SpectatorWe got bumped from Dec 1st to Dec 8th.

SpectatorSome dinner that they have every year there. Apparently they forgot about it when we registered. Oh well, at least we still get Saturday.

as far as teh switches go, awile back Keath Corzine *sp said we could get a few of teh switches out of helder since they are ripping it apart and replacing with fresh technology. kuros be sure to check on that, as the switch box we currently use last i herd was not a perment thing we are garenteed to use. as soon as it has an official use, i beleave we get the boot.
as far as food/drink’s i agree 100%. however we are by far getting more money than any other clubs for the events. we have been getting $200 for pizza and $80 for drinks and they pay for our vinal banners and flyers… times two for semester and 4 per year add’s up quickly, i dont think we will be able to squeeze out much more from them.
HOWEVER, we can start buying the off brand drinks so instead of a pack of $4.28 cokes we get 2 packs of $2.00 cola. thus nearly dubbleing our # of drinks… (maby something to be voted) More drinks or name brand drinks?
also we must have a few more coolers, or a trashcan full of ice… the 2 small coolers we curently have maby hold 4 cases total with ice. with over 80people getting drinks all at dinner time, half of us get warm drinks… also somethign to thing about
and as far as the room goes, the UC does so much for us. getting kick out when we promised a date is BS, however b/c we regestered so early, none of the other people got time to get their annual date/room. however be getting a saterday, we should be garenteed a saterday so all is good.

Spectatoraaaand add this to the list… I’ll only be swinging a maximum of one position this time, summer’s teaching me the hard way that money is, well, gold. So a pretty fair portion of my free time is gonna be me running around playing RCC to make a buck. If noone else wants it I’ll still run for council leader of whatever it was, but no marketing administrator. Deduct me from executive priv’s and such, I know, but right now I need the money more. Actually I could use the money within about a week, but it’s about a year’s earnings I’m crossin mah fingers for, so fat chance.
long story short: you’ll have the greatest procrastinator/slacker possible in office if you put me there. you’ve been warned

SpectatorI know it’s an old idea.. but.. finding means to attract LAN go’ers to the forums and active in the club. We have a ton of people to show up to the LANs, but they don’t voice opinions or anything. So any ideas to increase club activity and public voice. (Such as, handing out flyers at LANs encouraging players to go to the forums and attend meetings.
If I get the console council leader position, I’ll do my part for at least making speeches for tournies and what not.
Also… console-based sponsorships need to be addressed.

Spectator-World in Conflict
**As of now, Game doesn’t release until September 18th**
I still feel it is at least worth our clubs attention as it approaches release.
World in Conflict may be a great game to have at a LAN… Imagine a RTS that you can tourney like CS/CSS.
8 on 8 games, drop in / drop out server style.
No resource management.
Basically you get in, you select your class (infantry, armor, air, support), and you pick whatever units you can get out of 5000 or so points. For example: You are armor, 2 heavy tanks cost 3000 points, 2 medium tanks cost 2000, and 2 light tanks cost 1000. (Points aren’t accurate representation of game numbers). So u can rush with 8 small tanks or get the big boys that pack more punch but have less numbers.
Tactics are a big part of the game. The more units you kill or objectives you hold/fortify the more (TAC) points you accumulate. Through this accumulation you are entitled to a plethora of awesome abilities. My favorite is the nuke but you have bombs, troop drops, tank drops, bigger bombs, tactical bombs (for blowing bridges out), all sorts of artillery, etc…
It really would be an awesome game to LAN / host on the server. In beta right now and I am definitely buying this one. As far as the problem with RTS games lasting the entirety of a LAN. This is one RTS game that could easily be hosted in a decent time slot. It will support DX10 if you got the rig but thus far the results are negligible at best when compared to DX9.
(Game runs perfect on my 256mb 7900GT. DX9. 2gb RAM. 3.2ghz Pentium D). Thats with high settings and a little of the extreme.

SpectatorFalcon, are you still planning on being an exec?
Who is going to be the Treasurer…I hope you guys aren’t planning on re-electing Sam…but either way..he would have the money for the pizza for the first meeting…and you don’t have to vote on it, but there should be some record that we are going to spend $XX.XX on # of pizzas for date’s meeting.
Remember guys, every position except Kuros is up for re-election. And I beg those members dedicated enough, that if you know that someone did not do their job or is really going to be too busy to do their job, speak up at the meeting. Personally, I noticed that even while Adam and I were still at WCU the Saint never did his job at all, however he kept being re-elected (I believe 3 times), meaning someone else who did not have that job had to do his job for him. If someone else has to do it, then let them hold the position. Do Not Just nominate someone (or yourself) if you do not think they will be able to effectively do it.

SpectatorHm.. some ideas to promote the community as whole..
like at LAN, make an announcement about the WoW and GW Guilds and who to contact if they want to join.
Also, promoting the forums.. make a small flier to hand out to attendees, mention it so often during the LAN. (Wearing club shirt at LAN will help as well)
And whatever ideas we can employ.. hopefully more suggestions can come up during the actual meeting.

Spectatorgood idea, but 98% of the people that attend our lans sign up for the event on the website.. o_0 but a T would be nice to bring more twards the event from ppl around campus seeing it.
also we have all the dates for the upcoming lans, WE (this means everyone that can graphix) should go ahead and make up a banner / flyer thats eye catching. and get it printed so we dont get it pushed back to the point where a banner isent even printed,,,
Also I got 1 job now during the school year, and i might finish up my internship as a co-op the 1st part of the semester.. so 16hr’s of class and 2 jobs = no gaming time for dice

SpectatorI need to start training a new president. All who wish to run next semester let me know. With a baby of my own, I will have no time to run a Club of 400 babies.

SpectatorOr are there any nominations as to who’d be a good pres? (Other than Kuros himself)
