port 80 is smtp correct? cuz if it only filtered port 80 then that shouldnt have any affect on the common gaming ports. It’s choking the upload rate especially on the system, download is still ok, but its the upload that kills the games imo. once again I’ll see who i can *edited* off in IT and get *edited* done.

but did you play on putting juggernaut on there too? I definitely like the addition of the scrim maps
but we still didnt draw any people besides people that are on the forums and a couple of friends…..and there is never anyone in server
ight P got an update.
Been talking to the Aion tech people and they determined its not my computer, its the school network. Went to IT and they gave me the “Oh, if we had any network changes or port filtering done, I don’t know about it. ” and the classic “Well technically WCU doesn’t support gaming so I can’t really help you.”
now wdf do i do?
Ive played Aion for 3 months and love it. The graphics are a ton better, very different pvp system, and fluid movements and game play.

and master of orion kinda looks like it but its more dated than that. Like i said, it looks like colored asteroid ships. lol
well if i new that stuff P I’d tell you but this *edited* has been bugging me forever. i literally sat starting at google images trying to figure out this game.

uhm i dont really know this an older game with graphics a little above asteroids, your ship looked like a colored triangle and the planets were a ring. But yeah you had to capture the blank planets.

and i totally agree with the internet not being as reliable. Ive noticed a huge downgrade in the speed and connection here on campus from last year. Ever since they hired a Director or IT or something, everything has slowed down a ton.

Did some reading and maybe with all the network “upgrading” aka porn removing/blocking, they closed some in/outbound ports.
“Aion requires that TCP ports 80, 2106, 7777 and 10241 are fully unrestricted and accessible inbound and out.”

cuz im pretty sure its not on my end because i was online before i went to class and didnt change anything between the time i left and the time i came back….
we still gotta figure out a way to generate traffic……maybe we should set Juggernaut to the default map and game type lol.
well, as an update…..havent talked to domo. but….
had some friends playing with me in the server as well as a dude named 808 something. Got the admin commands to work and we played for a while, but at max we have 5 people and they were all with me. no other incoming traffic, then after issues with latency and choke problems we left.
is the server 100 or 66 tick?
just trying to figure out what the rates should be because mine kept defaulting and the server wouldnt allow them to be changed.
calling me an oldfart?! lol jk. Yeah, yanik is ok…he’s holding class M/W 8-9:15 and commutes to Clemson now as he’s getting some other degree at the same time as teaching. I understand the stuff he says but its a bit fast at times.

I agree about the maps killing population, but………even if we play normal maps, the reason i play CSS is cuz of the people and their personalities while i play.
Any movement to this topic? I haven’t been super active on the forums since last year and i wasn’t able to make the first meeting because I was plowing through EE 221 homework, but I was admin for a while when we still had regular server traffic including the Juggernaut nights and such when we had full servers and miss that ish. I’d be willing to help repopulate the server, ive been playing a lot more on a 24/7 office server now that ive settled into a homework/class reutine, gah i cant spell btw, but anyways. Any ideas? Pros/cons?
