I mean that was the logic behind having sk last. We had it last in the rotation so when it did crash the server it would restart at dust2 (ie. the next map) and continue on the rotation. Its actually a good idea, cept the crashing has become everytime sk comes up it crashes so we cannot rely on that nemore.
The map was removed because the crashing issue has become severe again and its time we go look up that thread dice posted that had an alternate scoutz. Throw it up on the server and see what ppl think of it.

we have a good 50-70 maps on the server atm, and we definitely could get a votemap to work if we wants. Also we can add new maps and even bring back the old ones. I really wish i didnt have to uninstall my CS last year because i lost literally 2 gigs of maps that i could have looked through and added. I just dont want to load up the server with maps that we will never use.
well in alll honesty i should wait till after finals to get this game cause i needs to study, BUT i really want it…. so lets say soon
he means at the end of each map, a mod is set up to vote up 5 random maps from a pool and sets the winner as the next map. While on paper this is awesome as it allows the ppl to choose what they want all the time, it also is fail because in most cases the server becomes a “d2, inferno, office” only server and those get old really fast.
Personally ive always wanted to have a map system set up that allows u first to vote for either custom map or a regular map, then from the winner of that vote choose 5 maps randomly and go. that way people can vote in custom maps if they want or if they feel like playing office they can set it up so that gets voted in as well. The main issue with that is that u again run the risk of driving a lot of people away because if the vote is a 55%-45% win then half the server could end up leaving.
If enough people want to try a vote map system, ill figure out one, but because most of the people who come on the forums and give me input want just a better rotation i keep that. If u have maps u want to suggest, please post them along w/ a fps banana link so i can test it out and see what people think about it. I’m willing to change things around and also there are many changes that are going to be updated to the 1.6 soon.
