I also perma-banned bloodlust after he joined with a racist name and then tried to dodge me renaming / kicking him by changing his name multiple times.
The server crashed twice.. once when I tried to use the teamswap command I wrote to even the teams and then again when I tried to spawn Major so I could slay him. After the second time it was around 8:30 and I was sufficiently angered and decided not to play anymore. We also couldn’t play any custom maps because they were mysteriously not on the server.
I will look into fixing these issues, but I’m heading to Clemson straight after work so it may be Sunday or Monday before this happens.. until then don’t use the !swap command.

They’d still find some reason to complain, people like that always do. For example, in states where same-sex marriages are allowed, many churches have been threatened to have their tax-exempt status revoked if they didn’t perform the ceremonies. This is essentially suing someone because they don’t believe the way you do and sadly they often win.
If the state mandates that something is no longer a religious-oriented ceremony then they shouldn’t then be allowed to demand that it be performed in a church under penalty of massive fines.
You’re exactly right. The state has no authority to punish a church with taxes for its beliefs. I haven’t heard of that before, but I’m surprised those states haven’t been sued over it.

Yeah I hear ya.. I’ve been running a laptop for a long while now. Hopefully I will make enough money to get a new desktop eventually.. but that doesn’t solve my internet connection issues.

Im not talking about permanently placed ads on the home page, i’m more referring to the the Latest news section where we announce our own LANs and such and possibly announce it the forums as well for extra exposure.
I’m not sure how the latest news section works.. whether it reads from a private forum I can’t see or if it was hard coded in to accept another interface… but if it does come from the forums then maybe we could just make that section visible without letting people post in it. That way you wouldn’t have to post things twice..
Now that could be a lot of work depending on how the news section is setup. I don’t know if you really want to do that.

I mean when I check out the sponsors tab it isn’t quite what I had in mind, unless we update it every time they have tourneys and make an announcement of it on the main page. What we could do is announce it on the front page and make a post of it in the forums as well. That way yes they are in our sponsors page but we would still be advertising for them on the main page and forums.
Who has access to these sorts of things? I need to run it by them to make sure it is okay before I mention this to the LAN centers.
The only other thing I could think of would be to display certain sponsors within the forums… personally I think it would be annoying for me, but if it could be used to get more sponsors then I’m all for it.
Seems like to me you could use web stats from this site to get more sponsors. Tell them how many hits (don’t have to tell them it’s the same people lol) every day.

It used to be playing new maps, juggernaut mod… but really now we’re just trying to get people on the server. So we’ll probably play the maps that attract people from THE INTERNET and really whatever the people want who are on the server.
