ParticipantFor those of you who run Windows Vista and don’t know, Vista SP1 for x86 and x64 came out a day or so ago.
I installed it yesterday and can attest that things are running much more smoothly.
If you want to install it but dont know how, just visit Windows Update.
If you have any questions or problems drop a note. I’ll try to help as much as I can and there are others who are also good with computers who can offer suggestions as well.

ParticipantI installed it and honestly haven’t noticed any difference. Hard drive usage is lower but thats probably because I uninstalled AVG more than SP1

ParticipantAs with all service packs, I’m giving it at least a month before I install it on my machines. Microsoft’s track record for releasing things right the first time is not very high.

ParticipantI have had no problems, as I said I haven’t even noticed a difference since installing SP1…
And you don’t have to tell me about them messing up the first time. I am one of the suckers who had his computer rendered inoperable from an automatic update they pushed out. MS = ftl but still better than Apple

ParticipantWindows is for the computer user that doesn’t care how an operating system works or can be improved, kind of like someone who drives a car but doesn’t know what an alternator is.

IMO, this should not have been announced and hyped the way it has been until it was at least to RC status. Making a big deal out of a beta service pack is stupid and just gets everyone excited that maybe Vista won’t be broke anymore. Anyone stupid enough to believe Vista suffers from anything other than PEBKAC shouldn’t be writing for computer publications.
