Yea, i know programming has bugs. I just want you guys to help with debugging so that I know you are looking for ideas with it. All the problems will be sorted out over time.

 

My updates and game plan.

 

–Remove Banner from top of forums, keep bottom

–Add functionaliy to disable sponsors if they arn’t sponsoring we arnt advertising May help keep thinks organized as to who is sponsoring. Also please use the notes inside the site to say what lans they sponsored. I have info built into the sponsors already.

–Fix news navagation. and sponsors logo addition to sponsors rotation on homepage.

–fix IRC link

–fix logo link to wcugaming.org

–debug gallery error, onlly happens when your logged in.

–fix contact us page error.

 

 

I need more detail on

— what and where to put console info

— what and wher to put links for games hosted

Notes:

-WCU gaming logo at top right on homepages takes you to wcu.edu o.0

-“About” tab should really be renamed “Servers” and should reflect all our current servers along with stats etc.

-Forums skin needs to match homepage skin in terms of shade of purple and logo

— what and where to put links for games hosted

just an idea, dunno if its doable/even worth it

 

but in the bar across the top with the gamin club logo, could be put the ad bar in there so that its not just awkwardly placed at the bottom?

 

 

this is all based on my opinion that the adbar at the bottom looks funny

If you guys decide to change the About section (I agree with Nickname’s post on this), can you maybe list the server IPs so we can copy and paste it into the server list on Steam? I know you can click on the banners and it’ll open a new window that shows the server stats, but is everyone gonna know to do that? It also adds an extra step. It’s not so bad, but I don’t see why we have to go to another page for each server just to get the ips when they could be listed on one page and be “copy-able,” which they aren’t in the banners.

good idea ill consider it. However i like having the About Section. We are about games. I think the gaming servers belong there. Also maybe info about consoles. Or reorganize it so that it gives info about the lan events and some pictures and whatnot.

people are complaining about the adds already i dont know if thats a good idea. I will let someone else decide that one.

The reason I support the “Servers” section over the “About” section is we have links to the constitution and our history on the main homepage already, it is silly to have those same links on the about page and once you remove them, all that is left is the server info.

i agree w/ nicknamious,,, i would think more people would click “server info” tab over “about us” tab.

 

and instead of the little bars for server stats, we could maybe implement more detailed stats in this new section.

I would personally like to thank all that has something to do with the update and work done to the front page of the website it looks great and I’m sure it wasn’t really a easy thing to do and y’all don’t hear it enough when stuff is done for the club it seems theres alot of peeps in the club that do stuff that are taken for granted for the things they do ie liam and all the work he has done for the club adambomb for creating such a great place to start with and the rest of the peeps over the years of the club. And i hope it can continue to grow and become more than it was ever planned out to be.

I like everything so far, but its kinda sloppy organized. Is it hard to move the tabs around?

 

 

I though it would be best organized by

News | Forums | Servers | Stats | Arcade | Gallery | Sponsors | Contact

 

(note News could be renamed to Home, if wanted)

 

Thats would getting rid of the donate tab,, which could be put in a sidebar as a link instead

 

 

Also for all server stats, all the junk at the top could be in the server tab and made up nice… – OR – HLstatsX Community Edition could be used link in example one or example 2 also note this edition is now “free” and is highly customizable

Clicking it to launch CS isn’t the same as being able to copy and paste the link. What if I don’t want to join the server right then and there?

 

Oh well. If we still have to click the banners to get to the ip address, so be it.
