Hey guys.. I was looking through some old stuff today and found videos of myself / old clan, and it made me wonder..
if anyone would think it’d be cool to see a WCU movie or something. We could just have people record demos or something when they’re playing good and send em to me, and I could take some nice 3+ kills or hs or random shots or dumb stuff or whatever and put them into a compilation. Just getting everyone’s thoughts.
We could all be hacking, and have a huge video of ALL the admins and regulars just hacking everywhere…and when the regular people come in, we attack then verbally, mentally, and physically…would be great!

Okay I like the feedback so far; any admins have anything against this? Any problems I haven’t seen?

Okay well it seems like there’s enough interest.
I guess we should start compiling videos. I think that they should be only in the WCU server, only source, and only exciting/funny/ridiculous things.
Anyone want to help me make criterium as to what should consider a clip?
NOTE: You guys will have to do RECORD yourselves, and it looks like I’m gonna have to go through the demos and FRAPS it myself, unless someone has already bought it or another program and wants to help.
A good clip:
3+ kills if it’s exciting
4+ close together
5+ clutch in a round
Double AWP kills
Long Range 1-shots
Something everyone would consider funny, preferably an accident, as they’re obv. funnier than staged stuff
2+ nade kills if accompanied by a gun kill
3+ nade kills
A ridiculous spot that gets you a few kills, where nobody can find out where you are
NICE flashbang kill
2+ flashbang kills

If i ever see 2 flashbang kills with one flashbang i will *edited* my pants, put my shirt on backwards, dunk my head in the tub, unplug my headphones, start using speakers, and consequently quit playing source….
Flashbang kills as in kills while being flashed. I want to keep the video exciting. Any OTHER IDEAS would be appreciated cough brother cough.
ooooooh… he he.. yeah i guess that’d make more sense… Suggestions also would be good for music, he’s a genious at splicing songs and making mixes, his ones for his highschool vball team were incredible, i still burn the one to every mp3cd i make. I dunno if this would work of how we might be able to do it, might need to raise some money? donations? But perhaps we can rent a hltv server for a weekend for wcucss? maybe get as many people as we can to keep it populated and get some great vids and stuff?
clearly i think we should use the music stylings of one [player of the week]lecarl for the background for the video! I got some decent clips tonight as did my brother. Not only of us either, got some other people, few regs, one or two not. The regs hopefully we can each get a lil 1-2 min clip for everyone built up. And then have some random clips at the end of people that don’t play so regularly. If anyone gets a good clip or good demo. I’ll be the one looking through the footage and cutting it down a bit. And my brother will be the one putting everything together. So just send a personal message to either of us and we’ll get in touch to get the file(s) from you. Hopefully we can try and get this up by the end of the semester as a farewell to any grads, possibly a bigger segment on each grad? And then if it goes well we can make a new one every sem/stats reset. But keep posting any ideas or things you’d like to see yadda yadda. My brother also has done some cool stuff with screenshots and consecutive screen shots. i’ll get him to try and find his video and post it, it’s kinda badass, though it was like 5 years ago and he’s progressed a bit. He has sony vegas 5.0 and some other editing things. So he can do a good job on it.

I think we can use a lot of LeCarl’s music, but I also want to do some music of my own and mix it. Sorry if I rant or don’t say anything useful on here, but this is going to be where I start to keep my notes. Anyways, WCU, I’m thinking if you guys want to rent HLTV or something, you can do a fundraiser or say that this is a project to appeal to the public or something? My brother’s gonna help me out a lot here, so I’m gonna thank him in advance; if anyone has any ideas at all just let me know. I’m already thinking of stuff for certain people. Two ideas so far: For Ellaine, have her awping doubledoors from T spawn, slow it down when she sees the person in the slit in the door, then speed up when she kills him. Another effect for this same scenario is slow it down, and start a timer when she can see the person. Then stop it when she shoots to show how fast/slow her reaction is. I’d like to do that with a few different awp kills.
When this kicks off I’m gonna immerse myself in tutorials and such to figure out all the effects I can do.
RECORDING DEMOS: Go into console and type record (name)
to stop it… type stop.
WHERE THEY GO: Valve/Steam/Steam-Apps/your-email/counter-strike source/cstrike
A good way to record is to do record WCU 1
if you get a good clip according to the info above, or something funny,etc happens, type stop.
Go on to WCU 2.
If you don’t get anything good out of it for a while, type stop, then type record WCU 1. Yes, the same name. If THIS one is a good demo, hit stop. It will go into the demos folder as wcu1_2. Just delete the original wcu1 and rename wcu1_2 to wcu1. PLEASE be courteous; make sure there is a good clip in each demo you send us. To WATCH YOUR VIDEOS, open CS:S, and type either viewdemo (demoname) or play (demoname). ViewDemo lets you rewind and such. Make sure your clips and demos are quality. Once again, PM me or my bro with questions, or just leave it on this forum.
You mean like mediocre kills and bad music? Or the whole introducing people part?
I was thinking either a like 2 second flash of someone’s name or keeping it in a corner of the screen.

Yeah pubmasters is really funny. Wasn’t such a fan of 2 though.

well personally nothing because it should be only wcu server people on the vid but if you watch the end of pubmasters they have a line of people blowing themselves up with nades like dominoes……maybe a finale like that would be funny since but again thats there idea but it would just be cool, but also we doo have some prettyyyyy a.d.d. positive people on the server so doubt it work lmfao
Hahaha it’s alright.. if you notice in the pubmasters video they have a ‘freeze’ frame with everyone long a looking at the camera, but the guy in the back right isnt lookin at it… dont remember how i remember that. We can def. do that if people want.
Just trying to keep interest going because if we want to do this for graduating seniors, itll be due in a month.
