Did he seriously just use a Styrofoam cup to pour liquid nitrogen into?

    #31404

nop, it was a expanded polystyrene cup

regardless of what kind of cup it was, doing it with bare hands is the stupidest thing i’ve seen in my life. It says funny at the top, i didn’t find much humor?

you kinda need gloves? and like thick stuff! liquid nitro can burn you just as bad as fire

well… kind of… except it freezes your skin dead, so where as you can graft skin to make it look semi-norm from a fire burn. basically you lose chunks of skin and/or fingees when they’re instantly frozen solid…

Yeah I remember going to discovery place and they would a plastic glove with a wax hand in the liquid nitrogen and when they pulled it out it would be frozen completely solid and then he would drop it on the ground and what didn’t shatter off when it hit the floor he completely smashed when he stepped on it, it literally just crumbled into tiny little pieces. He then would say, no basically this is what would happen if you were to ever get this stuff on you… What a *edited*ed up world we live in huh?

one of the coolest things to do with liquid nitrogen is dip in some cheese doodles, then when they come out… eat them. You look like a dragon, they’re safe to eat, just the nitrogen forms gas and you fume smoke. It’s cool with capital T. If your a science geek that is… :(

you guys are overestimating liquid nitrogen… you can definately handle it in containers without gloves. granted, if you submerge your hands in it, it will give you severe frostbite, but mild exposure from a splash or something, will do no less then cause irritation or a slight burn. you can actually ingest liquid nitrogen. ive ate liquid nitrogen ice cream before, you can find a ton of recipes on the internet if your interested. take it from someone whose studying chemistry, its been on me before. its not that bad.

actually, liquid nitrogen vaporizes immediately on contact with anything warmer than itself… hence the constant vapor. so once you open the container its stored in, anything over about -150 degrees celsius will cause it to boil off… the exposure just wouldnt be enough to do any significant damage… unless your a dumbass and just submerge yourself in the container.

EDIT: haha, i was curious… it is actually used as a coolant for super computers. pretty crazy

Yeah thats what I was talking about, putting your hand into a container of liquid nitrogen = bad idea…
