I mean, agree to disagree and DO something. Something has to be done and decisions have to be made. We may not agree with all of them but its better than doing nothing. Why say that now? We needed this 6 years ago when democrats and liberal republicans started blocking all the good legislation. Somehow this whole “let’s just get along for now and do something” thing only works one way. When the stuff “getting done” isn’t what you want this whole system seems to break down and turn into a competition to see how many things you can keep from getting done.
The plain and simple truth is that democrats have held a majority vote in both houses of congress for 2 years now and absolutely nothing has gotten done. Even when Republicans weren’t doing anything to stop you from passing legislation you couldn’t get your party members from the two houses to agree on anything. I hate to be the constant negative nancy but *edited* if you think Reid and Pelosi are going to magically start caring about this country overnight you’ve set yourself up for some serious disappointment.

Actually according to a more recent observation, Democrats may now be smarter than republicans. Hardy Har Har

ParticipantThere’s a lot of stupid voters on both sides. Here in Canada, I tend to rip on the kids who blindly support the NDP party and the liberals without really knowing what they are talking about. Not saying I support our conservative party, but I really hate the people who just lean one way without knowing the issues. I’d vote conservative, liberal, or NDP, just depends on the parties stance on certain issues.
You can’t deny that there are stupid people on both sides.
“Hippy liberal douches”
“Drunken redneck conservatives”

ParticipantI hate to make voters feel disenfranchised but I really think you should have to take a test before voting. If you can’t answer some very basic info (were talking elementary school level civics) then you shouldn’t be allowed to vote because it’s highly likely you are voting for something other than the candidate’s stance.
This proves my point:

ParticipantSo far, Obama has nominated a Treasury Secretary that didn’t pay taxes in four years, an Attorney General who helped 16 terrorists get pardoned, and a CIA Director who refuses to interrogate prisoners.
Wow, this is gonna suck, huh?
