ParticipantSo gxti, Flakes, and I all decide to play on TFC last night. We finally found a server that was somewhat entertaining only to find that no one moderates hacking any more. This dude on sniper on the opposite team got 3 headshots all within less than a second time frame. Total bullcrap. So TF2, HURRY UP. The WCU Gaming Club will most def support you!

ParticipantYeah, it was pretty craptacular

ParticipantTF2 is gonna rock though. We don’t have to wait much longer either. Never before has there been this much attention to its anticipated release date. My faith in the TF2 project is finally restored.

ParticipantWhat exactly is Team Fortress (*hides in fear of projectile bombardment from fans*)?
I’ve heard a lot of hype surrounding the sequel and I’m tempting to get it simply because what I’ve seen looks cool but I have no idea what it actually is.

ParticipantIt’s capture the flag. You pic one of 9 classes, and you either defend, support, or attack the flag. There are also command point maps (which TF2 claims to use more than CTF) where you take the flag and move it to a certain point on the map. These maps are played in three stages, ending either when the attackers run the flag thru all three phases or the defending team runs the time limit out. That’s TFC in a nutshell.

Participantthink day of defeat with a lot more classes, you can’t pick up someone else’s gun to trade classes, and there’s only 1 flag / team. plus you normally have to run through all sorts of bases to get to that flag.
at least that’s what i learned last night

Do not compare TF to DoD x_X. That insults TF
.Classes, especially in TF2 are well defined and balanced. You’ve got an engineer that can build sentry guns and teleporters. A spy who can cloak for about 10 seconds as well as put on the suit of an opposing player. A medic who has a ghostbuster style healing gun and a syringe launcher. Plus an amazing 60’s spy theme with a freeze frame on death mugshot of your killer (they may be adding an option to have video replay of your death instead of just a freeze shot). Also, on top of point control there is going to be territorial control maps too. This is different in that it pushes players to different parts of a large map, defending, attacking, or neutral ground depending on whose taken the territory. Lots and lots of cool things to look forward to.
