Hello gaming community, I’m Zach Reid and im the new council leader for CS 1.6. If there is any suggestions rather it be a new map you want added or maybe an old one to be removed, this is the thread for you…Also you may post about time, guns, bombs or any suggestions for gameplay will all be reviewed here…PLEASE DO NOT POST ANYTHING FOR PEOPLE TO BE BAN AND DO NOT TURN THIS THREAD INTO A RANDOM ONE…ONLY FOR CS 1.6 SERVERS ONLY
i personly would like to have the map voting back up. it wasent the best but sure as hell better than a rotation. I’d say start a thread and see if anyone else would prefur one over another….
Also take a look at the 1.6 server map stats and you can tell which ones people leave on… take those bad boys out no matter if it was rrotation or voting. *edited* maps are *edited*.
and the biggest thing is to get the maps people are lagging on, the maps that are crashing the server, maps that dont have enoulf spwn points,,, exc you get the point,,, get the maps off and/or working so people arnt leaving.
I agree map voting is a necessity it has really helped the source server in a positive way I think, also pruning is a good thing getting rid of the *edited* maps as dice says will help keep the 1.6 server more popular and be on the lookout for really popular new maps if there are any and those should be tested/voted on to see if the community would like to add them.

If a vote is posted to reinstate the map votes. I would like to request that a plugin be installed that doesn’t allow the same map to be played if it was played within 5-6 maps ago.
The reason why I personally dislike map voting is because it’s the same map over and over again and it usually switches off between three choices.
The only problem with a rotation that I see is that some admins only like to play 3-4 reoccuring maps and some go and do map votes even when they shouldn’t be doing so (rule of not doing map votes unless half of the server is absent).
A rotation is great if the maps are organized correctly (obviously).

plz giv admins more capabilities..no mo map rotation..basically, turn the server back to how it use to be before map rotation..with all the cool maps..UZIBUM? HE GLASS!!! SCOUTZELITEZZZ!!!!! .UBERSLAP! admins should be able to put up votes whenever they want..as long as it isnt too frequent.. amx_map command rocks..have fun with your pwrs, ZACH!,.,.Loot.
I think loot makes a good point. In that admins need the power required to improve the servers situation when the need arises, that could be removing a hacker, revoting when only unpopular map choices are available etc.
But, admins arn’t given many potentially disruptive powers for very good and sound reasoning. It’s important to remember maturity beyond age isn’t something every admins is blessed (or is it cursed?) with, friendly and great individuals they may be, it does take an awful lot of responsibility and constant self discipline to maintain complete fairness in the face of the potential to have free reign. Such responsibility is something that the Admins should not have to be burdened with daily, nor something that the WCU hierarchy should then have to spend more and more time policing and dealing with, due to complaints based on opinions like, what constitutes a good map, when is ‘uberslapping’ appropriate etc.
Perhaps due to the declining nature of the CS1.6 community, some slack should be given to allow Admins to aid the server in attracting and retaining numbers. But the server should always be reined in far enough to keep to the standards of WCU that are the defining characteristics of this community of games players.
Adding a few fun commands back to abuse players with sounds great. I don’t think amx_map should be granted. It really has no purpose other than to let admins take the server to maps they want instead of what the server wants.
I was saying it needed to be put back bekuz of when a map freezes up and then goes to D2..we can juzt amx_map it back to the map it was on instead of doing a vote and all that jazz..glad to see that Merrill is still around..100 posts for him…LOOT.
Gets kind of annoying when people such as Goose will do multiple votes in a row until it’s accepted. I’ve seen this happen two-three times before.
Map votes are tolerable as long as an admin isn’t biased and just does random votes on their own. If they do a two option custom vote with no third option saying “Neither” it kind of sucks because obviously one of the others will win.
One reason why I stopped playing in the APP server is because red would join the server and say the map sucked and would change it to awp_map where it would die, or scoutzknivez everytime.
But do whatever, experimentation is the best way to figure out what happens
Rotation is the way to go. It needs a little tweeking but its better than playing the same 3 maps over and over again. amx_uberslap is sick, needs to put that back on. Take the *edited*ty maps off, and replace with good ones. i.e. de_prodigy. cs_deagle5 is horrid and has been in the rotation for way to long. Cheatu sucks so bad I can’t even spell it, and whatever you do don’t *edited*ing put awp_map in the rotation, so *edited*ty. Glad to see someone is running the server that actually plays, unlike the other dude, who i never saw on, but he somehow came up with the rotation.
Let me add that if you are looking for a money *edited* custom map, aim_ea_nightwar, is tight. Its like fy_snow/fy_iceworld on crack. Best part is not any *edited*bag off the street can get an awp, cause there is only one to grab per round, and its located in the middle of the map.

well amx_map should only be used for when admins need to fill sever its a pain in the *edited* when there is like hardley any 1 on and ur on a crappy map. Isn’t it bassicly the goal of the sever to have the sever full while maintaining a good comunity. We have the community just need the rotation + the admin power to do it. I say give back the uberslap and give back amx_map but only use it when sever is less than 15
