ParticipantJust curious… what brought the vote on? Not really sure which way to vote because I’m not sure what a total stat reset really accomplishes.

ParticipantReset the top 4, and all is well.

ParticipantDJ has it, additionally I suggest we put bracket at -0, making him a point sink. j/k

ParticipantI know the work involved is pretty thankless, but a component to change point values might be a good way to deal with first offence hackers (even though hackers rarely change), or perhaps to add weight to other offences, excessive camping, ignoring objectives etc. a -minus 2 points for a person who picks up the bomb and runs away from the bombsites to hide would make people think twice.
As I said, thankless work. So sometime in the future perhaps. I think we can all grin and bare the current state of the stats for now and wait till a more appropriate solution than a total reset is on the table.

But seriously, the things you suggested in the first paragraph sound a bit outlandish to enforce with a point system. There are many situations in the game when those “point punishing” components would fail.

ParticipantActually I’m just presenting secondary reasoning to get such a component off the ground, its much better to be able to have a higher level of control over the point system than to be forced into a total reset to fix one night of point-debauchery.
Theres always potential for anything to fail, and potential for anything to work, its why its called ‘potential’.

ParticipantI can write replacement values into my script as easily as I can delete values.

ParticipantNo, hackers are hackers the ban there will always be permanent pending a successful appeal.

I have to write a plugin for that. I’m lazy. Not sure what the above was in reference to then. Kuros?
I’m confused, if sorting out peoples point values is easy… whats the reason for the poll on resetting everyones stats? Has there been an executive discussion about some trouble with the stats we’ve all missed? It’s just seeming a little whimsical and out of the blue.

Participantin regard to what pink said above…you’d have to have an admin in the game all the time…or those situations wouold never get sorted out right.
And there are times when no admins are on. So…im sure that would help, but it would take alot of work and alot of admins

No, someone had suggested it and I knew this vote would fail. The plugin will nuke the stats of individuals. I’ll have it done within a couple weeks. It’s 2nd priority to the LAN event.

ParticipantAhh good news. Much luck with the event… shame you won’t have webcam coverage, web-based live score updates and tournament tables… …aw come on, please ^.^?

ParticipantActually pink as I suggested at the last meeting we probably will be having SourceTV covering it so the rest of the community can watch, not the Opening round, but at least the quarter, sem, and finals. We are probably going to have enough people that we will have two parallel opening rounds this year, I don’t think we would be able to do sourceTV on both at the same time.
