OK guys here’s the deal.
Last week the power was shut off to WCU’s main datacenter and unfortunately (well sorta) the server was populated and streaming stats to the webserver in the datacenter. As a result, the CSS stats database was damaged and the repair tools were only able to fix about half the corrupted tables. This is why we’ve been having issues, whenever the server tries to write to the corrupted table the stats module crashes and has to time out before autorestarting.
At this point we have two options. We can continue to use the existing stats database and tolerate the issues we’ve been having lately with outages or we can migrate to the new system and start completely over, just like a stats reset we have ever semester.
As this affects the community, I’ll leave the decision up to you.
If we were to migrate to the new system it would only take about 5 minutes to make the transition.
Just a quick question if you go to the new system and start over do you still plan on the reset in may/june for the new semester?
i might add the new system is 95% the same as the old one, on top of having additional cool settings

As in they never show up half the time during a map. I assume its not recording anything during that time either.
There are people who play on this server for stats, because we keep them, and its a pretty tight knit group. If they are down a lot, then what is the point, even if it is still keeping track of them. The fun, for these people, is to see where they are right now. I say reset them, people can build it back up without too much trouble, and if the new system will be better, then all the better.
But I do see people *edited* when its down, even if it is still keeping track, so I say reset, and impliment the new system.
It records right after it says 3/6 needed for stats. It just doesn’t show on session. Go look at stats, your kpd/points are going up regardless. It just doesn’t show in session or session_data. I know people want the new system to be able to see how many points they just got but in all reality who cares so long as your point total goes up? I know for me, i only use it for keeping track of my kdr in more than one map.

Yeah im with peanut on this. I actually think we should clear the points twice a semester instead of just once but thats me. I know people are always asking why its set to every semester now and they say its to long.
because this is all for the college… so it makes sense to reset them once a semester… But anyway, I agree with the changeover, the thread about the new system looked good and I think everyone liked it. Plus dice is so excited he might fail the old one just to get the new one

EDIT: I have made the transition and everything is working great. Didn’t even have the restart the server.
