New FPS coming out that looks promising. The game was designed for multiplayer and from what I have read / seen I can say it might be worth the buy.
The only downside is if your playing on PC you need Vista. There will be cross platform multiplayer between PC and Xbox 360. They give the x360 kids a little help in terms of aim as to even the odds. From what the hands on previews say this does help to balance the differences between console and pc.

This really has nothing to do with this game, but has anyone here played STALKER? it looks cool but I haven’t had the money to dish out on it yet; this is only relevant because it’s another new FPS.

The atmosphere and balistics are awesome. Shooting takes a bit to get control of and most of the people you encounter in the begining are vets/experts while your a rookie (basically) so it takes a lot to kill them. Later on when you get better weapons and armor they die much easier. The best tactic is to shoot them in the head (they all wear body armor and have a life bar that lasts as long as yours). This does mean they can shoot you in the head and you almost die but that is a very rare occasion and if your quick enough to pop a first aid you won’t have any problems.
Ultimately it is a great experience. It isn’t as gut wrenching as Doom 3 (or Fear depending on your personality) and really does a good job of giving a good ratio of the weird moments and the normal (blow up military guys) action. I would say it is worth a buy but be aware that there are issues with people not being able to play the game due to some weird bugs (as usual I guess).

If you don’t have the money you could always ‘borrow’ it to ‘make sure’ you like it
