How about for a set number of days, Perhaps 2-5, we insert a new, hot, fun, exciting map to the rotation, and hold polls/votes and take a YES or NO, and if it gets a good response.. keep it perhaps.. or put it on a list for HEY THIS IS A GOOD MAP TO USE ONCE IN A WHILE, and if NO’ed TOSS IT!!! Just for the “I told you so”, this is a mistake. If you want custom crap all the time make it a votemap at the end of the round as this will have about the same result. People don’t want to learn a new map every couple days only to have it removed a few days later. It’s pointless.

I tend to agree with this and ive come to realize about 55% of the regulars on the server are stat *edited*s and would rather play dust2/inferno all day.

 

As much as i would love to do that try out period, i think the server would generally dislike it and i think the best way to introduce any new maps is one at a time and see how the server reacts. If they love it, keep it in, if they hate it immediately take it out, and if they are “meh” about it, take it out and try a new one. We have a couple maps that started out great but are starting to over stay their welcome ie. de_pf_dust and could use a new map there.

Thats what im saying, i dont want to have all new maps, but to slide one in the server for a few days, maybe hit it 4 or 5 times, and if we keep getting an “eww” from everyone then dont use it. We are just looking for a few maps to maybe toss in the mix or maybe have on stanby for fun nights or something new. Because we all love the old stuff. just need a few spicy ones rawr! and it doesnt take long to learn a map, after a few rounds ppl get the hang of it. So i dont think it it would be a problem.
