Server Keeps randomly banning me

Hey guys.

For some reason the server keeps randomly banning me, both times it has happened there aren’t even admins in the server. What happens is that when I die, I minimize CS, then when the new round starts, I open CS back up to see that I have banned. I keep trying to rejoin the server and it says I’m banned and after about 10 attempts it lets my join. I don’t have the time the first time it happened, but it just now happened around 5 pm central time (10/30/07). I have no idea whats causing this, it is really weird IMO. Any idea on whats going on?

Nope. Senior in highschool.

i’ve played with him and hes cool. doesn’t hack either. not when we play together anyway. i wasn’t there at the time but it probably is a glitch. kid is cool

Not sure how the 1.6 idle-kicker works but it may slip your name into a temp ban file (1-2 mins) to prevent auto-rejoining. Some Source servers have a setup like that.

 

Try going window mode instead of doing a full alt-tab.

not im pretty sure that it doesn’t temp ban you master. i’ve been kicked by afk plenty times. never a ban

There isn’t anything in place on the server that I’m aware of that does that.

Nope, like I said its just a 1-2 minute ban.

Are you certain it’s not just a high ping kick?

Well I wouldn’t think so. My ping is usually around 70 unless someone else is pinging high which causes me too, but its never above about 100. And the fact that it bans me for a minute leads me to believe that is not a ping kick, unless the server is set up that way o.O

The server does not ban for ping kicking. What message do you get? Copy/paste it from your console. Screenshot it. Something.

When I first come back and see that I am no longer in the server, there is no message which is the first weird thing because, correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t you get a message saying your banned when you first get kicked from the server? But then when I try to join the server it simply says, “You have been banned from this server.” Next time it happens, I’ll grab a shot of it.

Look in your console. All of your history is there.

Turns out it is because of ping. Guess my ping jumps when I alt/tab for some reason? But still, why does it ban me for a minute?

HPK does it for 1 minute to keep people from auto-reconnecting. Run CS in a window or stop alt+tabbing out.

i just press the start button and i don’t get kicked or anything.but sometimes my weapon hand changes to left which is an easy fix
