A long long time ago, in a wcu not at all far far away…

 

we use to have this vertically scrolling message board, where we could put little blurb or twitter like messages. It was hella cool. And we had lots of fun getting our troll on. Is there any way we could some how bring that back???

You mean…a shoutbox? Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of a message board? Although…I have a recommended forum mod for this sort of thing.

 

It seems useless, because again…we have forums…so I don’t think the club will go for it. I’d agree %100 if they didn’t, but I wouldn’t be object to it either.

I agree. I personally would never put a spambox…er uh…shoutbox on my forums without adding captcha to it….and that would just be a pain in the *edited*…so…meh on the shoutbox idea.

I’ve seen it done before where access to the shoutbox is only allowed to those who have X number of posts. If you were a guest or had <X posts, the shoutbox simply didn’t appear.

find one that integrates with IPB. i dont want people who are not “users” posting anything in a spambox, because if they post links to porn sites we need to be able to determine who to ban.

 

I don’t think this is worth the time to code.

Wtf is shoutbox?

 

A message randomly popped up and said that I had installed shoutbox and now I have this little shoutbox thing underneath the My Controls menu bar thing.

I like this idea. I see people who are online at the bottom of the page, and it would be nice to be able to say hello without having to pm or steam message them. As long as there is some option to disable it, I don’t see the harm
