ParticipantOkay, let me start off by saying, there is some dumb *edited*ing people in this server, and i forgot that this game was rated M (M USUALLY MEANS MATURE NOT MAJOR *edited*).
First off, the complaints about people *edited*ing about my racism, I had only ever said one word once, and it was purely by accident and I apologized for it. No other time has ANY ever had any evidence, only time when I died and ex heard me, and I apologized for it.
Now, I’m very aware that some people are struggling with their life issues and want to live in counter-strike and are very jealous that some of us get more attention than others, while some fade away because they do stupid *edited*. I.E TEAM BLOCK, TEAM FLASH PURPOSELY may i highlight that for some retards that might recognize what they’re doing, but do I ever write on the forums and complain about them being retarded? no, because it doesn’t affect my life that much. It makes it funner.
Now admins abusing shouldn’t be a problem, a couple of slaps here and there? But it’s good fun, this server has changed by people caring a LITTLE less about the rules and stupidity, but may I remind you, that when you purchased the game there was a rating “M” on that little box, which means violence, language, etc.. Also, when you play ONLINE it also says “GAME MAY CHANGE/WE CAN NOT CONTROL ONLINE PLAY. PLAY WITH OWN DISCRETION” now, if you’re still too dumb to understand that, I may enlighten(teach) you that it means THERE IS GOING TO BE MEAN PEOPLE, take your biggest baddest nightmare and times it by three, and you might equal me on a good day.
Now if there is anybody I have made want to ///wrists. Please message me or add me as a friend and tell me, surely enough I will apologize and teach you how I don’t mean any hate what so ever, even if I do call you a smelly *edited* sucker, or a vibrating dildo of the devil’s anus. ITS A JOKE. Dark humor, learn it and stop being a *edited* in life. Also, if there is anybody *edited* in the server, don’t take any queerotry meaningful, if you do.. you’re obviously playing the wrong game, Barbi’s world offers a much more glamorous life… I’m sure.
Final note, I promise. If my presence in the server is seen a burden or a headache, I will quit playing there if I must for some little children to have their game back.
— Good game, thanks for your points.

ParticipantI’m glad I read this, I almost killed myself tonight because I thought you were fo’ real the whole time.

ParticipantIt is not how the game is rated, or the fact that the gameplay can change. The fact that the server is a branch of the Western Carolina University, and therefore the server itself has to foster an environment that does not discriminate against any group of people along with the code of the club and the University.
lol@”thanks for your points”

Being tied to the university means we have to hold ourselves to a higher standard.
If it is as you say and you’re never a problem when you won’t be punished.
You know you cross the line in some ways but typically catch yourself about halfway across it and quickly jump back. What we’d like to see happen is you not go anywhere near the line.

ParticipantListen, we all get near the line. It just happens. Look at the quote in your sig masterp. I’m not trying to be a *edited* here, but sometimes, it’s all in good fun. I kno I say things a ghey all the time in the server. To be honest, I can’t imagine that many *edited* people playing counter-strike in the first place and if they do, I’m sure they have a hardened skin by now. It’s not like hearing the words “*edited*” or “*edited*” or any derivation of these is an uncommon thing in most any pub out there.

Well I don’t know that there are many either, but in any case it’s still a reflection of the University and I’m sure the people writing the checks would not appreciate seeing anything like that come across their desk. It does offend some people and it’s no longer to be tolerated.
Admins will have their admin suspended / be put on probation for a week if caught and everyone else will just be kicked at first with a warning and then escalate after that up to a permaban depending on the number of repeated and aggravated offenses (doing it just to get banned / to break the rules).

ParticipantI will agree that it is up to the people running the server to dictate what is allowed and not allowed on the server. I was pointing out we all get near the line. How far is too far tho? No matter what you say, someone is always going to be offended. People take offense at way too little in this day and age. Should we be walking on eggshells trying to be completely inoffensive to every single group of people? I guess what I’m getting at is, we really don’t know if something offends someone until after the fact and they complain. Albeit, some words are obviously going to offend some people. *edited*, queer, the n-word, and other obviously flagrant words would be crossing the line and should never be used, but there are a lot of fringe words that may or may not offend someone. And at what point does it get ridiculous? If I were to come in the server, someone asks me how life’s been lately, and I say it’s been a b****, and then a female comes on and says that I offended her by using that word, are we not allowed to say that anymore? At some point people have to suck it up and accept things in life. I’m very religious, and when I hear someone say God D***it, I don’t like it very much, but I accept the fact that I can’t control other people’s actions, and I’m not going to force my views or values on to anyone else.

ParticipantThat’s not the point. Even though I may not like it very much, I don’t expect other people to bend to my will and don’t expect there to be a rule made or amended to conform with me.
October 6, 2009 at 2:28 pm #93749MasterP
ParticipantI think we’re really blowing this out of proportion. I can count on one hand the number of people that have issues with our rules on this.

This reminds me of something.
Last semester, I shared a room with a lesbian and I was careful not to say “that’s *edited*” around her for obvious reasons. She didn’t ask me to, but I am usually aware of what I say around certain people. I found out later that she also didn’t like the word “douchebag.” I told my bf, who said, “Why, is she a douchebag, too?”

While it’s true that not everyone shares the same views as you, there are rules that people still have to abide by and people to enforce them.
Let’s say human sacrifice was still practiced today (it may well be in remote areas, but that’s besides the point; I just mean openly and maybe on a mass scale). It may be acceptable to that culture to kill someone for their god or for whatever reason, but if they come to the US and try to kill someone for the same reason as they did back home, they’re on our turf. We enforce our laws. They murdered that person. It’s a clash of beliefs, but there’s order to maintain here.
So even though people view things differently, it doesn’t mean that we let them run rampant on our servers just cuz we can’t make their point of view conform to ours. They can either abide by the rules — watch what they say and play — or they can leave (voluntarily or by force).

when i said that, i was referring to “me” not as the server, but as a person claiming to be offended.

ParticipantYou know I think we’ve established that racism, sexism, bigotry, anti-semite, or any other type of discrimination is wrong and will not be tolerated. I don’t think that this was a major problem on the server (meaning that there are not very many occurrences), but it did need to be addressed.
Now as I said before players will be punished starting with a kick with reason and going as far as a permaban for people who do it just to continuously break the rules / won’t stop. Punishment for admins will be a week without admin and possibly more depending on the violation.
