I would just like to thank everyone that helped out with the console section and the LAN in general. My CLs (Daniel in mikes place) did a good job organizing and coming up with rule sets for the different tournaments. John in particular did a great job doing his tournaments without any help while everyone else was trying to get the other tournaments worked out. I really want to thank all of my Brothers from tF that came and helped with the tournaments, the set up, and the clean up(that includes you Dustin). I’m also really glad Gamestop was able to show up with the 360 station because according to people at the door, it brought in 10-15 people. Adam and Ashley Faulkner were incredibly helpful throughout the day and I now count them among my friends. Overall we have A LOT to work on for the next LAN but in could have been MUCH worse without the help that was offered by these people and more.

If anyone has any problems, concerns, comments, or positive remarks specifically for me, then you can post them here. if it turns into a flame fest you will be ignored but apart from that I am very open to input. my CLs and other execs can just call me or wait till the meeting this Thursday, this is for the people that don’t have immediate access to me.

Just thought I’d post here and apologize for the internet issues you guys had. Networking gave us the wrong 10/100 switch and the one we got had the security policy for the university datacenter on it. Normally we have a switch with almost no security on it at all.

    This shouldn’t happen again.

To avoid stuff like this happening again Mitch, I’m thinking about getting our own switch

well those switches we get cost like $2000 a piece; it was a simple mixup on networking’s fault cause they had 2 identical switches and grabbed the wrong one. Shouldn’t happen again.

in other words: out money would be best spent elsewhere, plus that way we dont have to worry about the storage of the switches…

If I can get power cables for mine, I can bring the two I purchased.. as backups.

If it is decided to by a switch of some kind i strongly suggest paying no more than $100 for it.

We don’t need to spend any money on networking equipment.

I was just stating that if it was decided to get our own for backup and such we shouldnt get a huge one.

Between the PC execs we have enough to run a small LAN from routers and switches we already own. If it happens again we can look into getting a cheap linksys 8 or 16 port switch but I wouldn’t be too worried about one mistake. Now that we know what the problem really was we can make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Ill handle that tonight when Domo gives me the pics on a flash drive. And as far as tonight’s meeting goes, lets keep it civil people. Anyone that starts yelling, getting in someone’s face, overreacting, or any other stuff that could start a big conflict will be asked to leave, I am not going to put up with any crap from anyone tonight. Lets be mature about this and do what we are suppose to, focus on the next LAN event and what is best for the club.
