Ok guys, I got the point. But please do not tell me that there is an issue by email or aim. Just post it in the forums, yes I can help, but there are people who have more authority than me.
Ok problem is that something between us and the outside world is causing problems. Yes we do ping fine to the WCU servers, but the people on the outside pings 300 ish to our gaming servers inside. And if we go outside we have 300 ish pings and yet they stay the same.
Its seems to be happening to random people at random times and has nothing to do with our setup. It’s beyond our boxes. I have done a default install of the games and shut gamecreate off for testing and didn’t have any affect of their pings on our side. There is nothing I can think of at this time the issue could be pointed towards other than something on the network causing issues.
Games having issues that I know of.
– Counter Strike 1.6 at random people and random times
– COD2 all the people at all times.
well, I live in concord nc and i was fine for a while once the ‘ping issue’ epidemic started. then one fine day, i got hit and i was hittin almost 400+. As of late however, my ping seems to be fine.
whatever fine work taht is being done by adam and the rest is becoming evident. as adam said, it not the game servers. He is getting the ITS guys to work on it.
so GIVE THE MAN A BREAK!!!

*edited* i better enjoy it for the next 3 days on campus… i ping 90+ when the thing dident have a ping issue at home… Oh well… Let us know if/when its fixed… thanks
i havent had the ping issue…i mean it was about 90 or so when it is usually 15-20 but nothign unplayable…the300+ would be unplayable.
For me, it’s all the time, every time. It ranges between 200-800 consistently, and never drops below. I can usually stay in the server for no longer than a couple of minutes, due to getting kicked for a high ping. Unplayable isnt the word. Anyways, hope it gets fixed.
I got the problem when i am at my house but my problem doesn’t occur when i am at my friends house and use his computer it is kinda weird. …
Adam have yall tryed bring one of the 2 servers being ran down like bringing the otherserver i think it was cod2 server down and see if the pings to the cs server come down this is just a thought but you may be eating to much bandwith for the connection
Hmmm i just noticed something its weird as hell and i donnt understand it but it looks like when you pull the server up in steam that it shows 29 of 32 peeps in the server and you can hit refresh and many times as you want to and it donnt change but if you go into the server there are no where near 29 peeps i did it today and there were 3 peeps in the server but the game info from steam showed there b !shy eing 29 still … btw all the peeps that steam shows in the server are bots all have the same time on them
we have i think three server redirects… this is a server with bots, and it showes it playing on a populat map like D2. so people come and join our server… but instead it will redirect you to our server… that why you see the text in out server ‘a fake server points you here, the real IP is ___________’ kinda cheeting but everyones doing it…
What about your firewall idea, ex?
