ParticipantI’m an amateur at this, but hey, you gotta start somewhere. With my budget Biostar board, I’ve upped the clock speed from 2200MHz x 2 to 2346MHz x 2.
Bus Speed: 213.1MHz (stock 200MHz)
Memory Speed: 213.1MHz (MB defaulted to 200, I think it’s supposed to run at 166 but no problems whatsoever)
Memory Timings: 3-3-3-7 (no idea what was being autodetected, but it was very very no) – also of note is that according to memtest86+, bulk writes are slower with 2.5-3-3-7 timing – maybe the memory itself is labeled wrong
Currently running prime95 on one core in “beat the *edited* out of my CPU” mode, and folding@home on the other. Not a single error so far. Woot!

Participantcongrats
i would play around with mines, howeer
1.) i dont know shat about CPU math
2.) my wallet is not very big, inface its very very small…

ParticipantMy wallet is very, very small too. That’s why I’m overclocking instead of buying a better system

ParticipantI don’t know what kind of card you have, but you will probably notice a larger performance improvement in games if you overclock your video card as opposed to your cpu

ParticipantWho says I was going for the framerate?
April 6, 2007 at 4:51 pm #19436Nickname
Participantjust an assumption on my part; but regardless I used to have an amd 3500+ (which is what I think you have) and I got mine up to I think 2563mhz; you should be able to push a higher fsb if you lower your memory speed
April 7, 2007 at 2:41 am #19452gxti
Participant4400+ @ 2.2ghz per core, so it’s not all that impressive. It’s not terribly stable like my 3200 was, but maybe it’s the memory.

Participant*cough* nerds *cough* LOL, those kill this computer.

Participantahh a 4400; well i guess overclocking a dual core amd would be harder than a single core; but I still say that your memory is probably holding you back.
And yes I have every right to be a nerd!

Adam FaulknerParticipantI overclocked my HD from 100 gigs to 100,000 gigs.
I am never going to tell how i did it

ParticipantX2’s are alot harder to overclock.
I’ve had my 4200 X2 stock 2.2ghz to 2.9ghz… I used to be addicted to voltage.
I now keep it at a mild 2.4 on stock voltage. Idle temps are about 30C

ParticipantI overclocked mine to…wait…I can’t overclock. POS ASUS is JUNK!
