ParticipantSo i donno about you guys, but at texas a&m, getting your ring is like a really big deal. Sure the degree is nice, but when you are going in for an interview, the first thing they see is that fat ring on your finger. Aggie network ftw.
Anyway, you are required to have 92 hours, and be in good standing towards graduation. I had 92 hours last year, but didn’t really have the money at the time to order one (for dudes the rings are like 742 bucks without diamonds). It’s taken me a little while but i finally saved up enough to get one finally, and am getting it today!!!
All of them look the same pretty much, i guess cuz we are big on tradition and that kinda blah blah. I just want meeeh gold!:
And this is what I have to look forward for tonight at tomorrow:
To keep this fun for you guys, any and all aggie jokes you can think of please post. Or any cool experiences getting your ring and/or graduating.

ParticipantPeople out side of texas dont understand the importance of rings or rather what it shows and the pride we have when we get em. When I got my high school ring I was so happy and proud to wear it. Good for you and that ring looks super cool. Congrats.

ParticipantI can’t get over the guy in the background saying “cum oun reyk or rayd” or something, rofl. Yea I’ve never heard of rings…that was in high school. Definitely the parties though!

im sure much longer than most high school traditions
aggie network:

ring + degree = job. I go to the most conservative public school in the nation. I just spent today walking around George Bush Sr.’s future grave, he has it set up at his library on campus for him and Barbara.
Old conservatives (most in texas are aggies) = MONEY
And the first thing they look for is that FAT ring.

Participant
Before you go calling me a alcoholic (although i am pretty close lol)
Texas A&M has a tradition to “ring dunk”. As in drop your ring in a pitcher of beer and chug away. I did it in 56 seconds, but with fresh beer. Your suppose to leave the beer out to let it get flat like a few hours before you chug. I only let mine sit for 30 minutes, so it took me longer. Lol im not making excuses, go ahead and call me a *edited* if ya want

ParticipantI wouldn’t call you one, only way I can chug a beer is if I am shotgunning it or there is a shot glass of Bailey’s and Jameson in the bottom of it. Me chugging a beer that size just wouldn’t happen…

ParticipantBlech… beer tastes like horse *edited*, I drink it to get drunk or have fun with friends. That is the only reason for me, the only beer I actually enjoy is a BL Lime.

ParticipantHEY NU RAYZ
I GOT MINE TODAY – jizz in my pants worthy.
It’s a 100 year old tradition here at tech (gg military schools) and for some reason I am the only person I know to have gotten one. I have been waiting for the day our class could get rings since I first came to tech, and I thought so did everyone, but I guess not. I even got one in high school for the tradition there was something like 70 years.
Kids these days not realizing what they should be doing.
(inb4 nu rayz bragging his tradition is older – *edited* YOU BEING THE FIRST SCHOOL)
