I bought Mario Galaxy yesterday. It is wonderful. Not only is it the best looking Mario game ever, it is also the best sounding Mario game ever. I believe this was the first time a full orchestra was used in a Mario game, which works very well. It also appears that many of the things from the early Mario Bros. games that were eliminated in Mario 64 have been reintroduced in a 3D setting. Super Mushrooms, Fire Flowers, Invincibility Stars, Airships, Magikoopas, and the ability to throw shells all return. There are lots of really fun game play elements. It is really interesting to see Mario running upside-down. The game has a perfect mix of nostalgia and innovation.
Anybody else exited about this game?
