ParticipantAnyone getting tired of spending all this money on newer versions of the same thing? The least they could do is include a substantial update, all this seems to do is make HDDVDs play at full capacity. Looks like they’re taking the XBOX and throwing in a DVR.
Any confirmed enhancements from MS or is this guess all you’ve got?

ParticipantWow bet you xbox lovers wished you had a console that you didn’t have to update every month like a PC hardware needs to be, if you want it top of the line…
It just figures all Microsoft wants to do is see how long they can milk a product and some people just keep right on buying into it, oh well.

ParticipantWell this sounds like the xbox I heard about awhile back. I’m pretty sure Toshiba is helping build the new machine. And honestly, I wouldn’t mind getting the new one, just for the built in HD-DVD drive (assuming they put it in, in which they should). It’d be nice, plus I’m not paying the $200 for the external one for my current 360.

ParticipantDidn’t the original specifications state the XBOX360 would be released with an HDDVD drive? Did the desire to release a year ahead of everyone else overshadow the desire to release a complete product?

ParticipantThat’s business for you. So far, I don’t think it’s really hurt them all that much. I mean.. look at the PS3. Yeah.. I know the Wii is probably outselling the 360, but the Wii is an entirely different system with its focus and style and target market. Between the battle of MS and Sony, I think MS is winning. And hey, if they make more money releasing new 360’s then let them. It’s capitalism at work.
